“5* All The Way”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

We arrived when it was quite busy but there was a lady waiting to get the tasting to us. Unfortunately I forgot her name but she was youngest in appearance and most polite even when I kept getting sidetracked by the wonderful photographic side show going on behind her ;p

The tastings were AMAZING. Even the desert wine which I am not a big fan of and the rose which I am indifferent on! Every tasting poured was like heaven on my taste buds...shame they were a bit out of our backpacker budgets though ;s

However, if you love wine tasting definitely go here as the service was exceptional and what they have on offer for you to taste is out of this world. Probably the best wine I have ever tasted!

Oh, when we went it was the MacDonald range we tasted!

“Fantastic way to spend an afternoon”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

Very bubbly (no pun intended) hosts. After the tasting we spent a good hour over a bottle of wine and one of their heaving platters. Great food, good wine and very charming staff. Well worth a visit

“Platter and wine for Mothers' Day”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

Visiting from Tauranga, we decided on the platter for Mothers' Day lunch. John allowed us to sample several whites to match our tastes and have with the platter. What a wonderful experience sitting in the lovely surroundings in the Autumn sun. The platter and, especially the wines were superb. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Napier. I inadvertently left something at the Cellar Door and really appreciated the prompt delivery of this item to my home address. They chose not to charge me postage. Excellent service!

“Salubrious Sunday Sampling”
Reviewed April 27, 2013 via mobile

Embarrassingly enough after 7 years in Hawkes Bay we had never been to Church Road for a tasting , concerts yes but never the Cellar Door. On a lazy Sunday afternoon my wife and I were looking for a reprieve from the couch so decided to head along for one of our favourite pastimes and very happy we did. Courtney took us through the wines that were on for tasting in a friendly and professional manner , she was knowledgeable and you got the feeling she liked the wines herself . We decided halfway through to order a platter and it was ready by the time we had finished the next half of the tasting. The reserve Chardonnay for a 2012 was stunning and is already in the cellar , the Marsemino was delicious and the Syrah was silky and full of Hawkes Bay goodness. The platter was awesome and very generous for two to share. I highly recommend a visit to Church Road , not rushed and very friendly. We look forward to returning and hopefully enjoying one if their FAWC events . Thanks again to Courtney for the great service.
