“Worth the visit to Bluff Hill Domain”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

The drive up the narrow and steep hill is well worth the effort. Once up there, the views from Bluff Hill are just breathtaking. You can watch the port and all its workings - there were thousands of logs stored on the docks and being loaded onto ships/ You can see Hawks Bay sparkling in the sun, view the city of Napier with its beach and enjoy the gardens of the Bluff Hill Domain. It would be well worth taking a picnic lunch up with you and a camera is a must!!

Could not see Napier, but the view of what we saw was fantastic. Finding how to get here was very easy too. Would go back for a visit.

“Get the overview (literally)”
Reviewed July 7, 2013

It's a bit of a climb but well worth the view, both of the homes and the "business end" of Napier. Seeing just how much lumber is being exported is astounding, even after driving through all the managed forests along the way. Coming back down through Sturm's (I think that was the name) Gully and seeing the result of one person's commitment to beautifying the landscape was also a nice part of the walk. The Art Deco bus will drop you off at the base and pick you up again a half-hour later, which was perfect timing for the walk up and back (with time for a little dawdling along the way).
