We were happily surprised to enter a small Bed and Breakfast Hotel with so much character, such a strong French flavour, so nicely decorated and with a charming, service orientated host: Monsieur Gerard.
The view from the balcony could have been at a Mediterranean village. Just beautiful.
The Breakfast table was perfection at its best. Homemade, fresh croissants. Can't get any better. It was a very special treat. The entire experience is highly recommendable. Cleanliness, Comfort and Convenience; what else does want need?

Mon Logis is nothing like a hotel or guest house more like home. Gerard is a fantastic host and a great character. The building is historic, decorated in the French style and as you would expect the cuisine is top rate. There is help yourself hot and cold drinks available at any time of the day and if you are a bit of a francophile you will lovely the freshly prepared and cooked breakfasts.

All in all a great time with a fantastic host in a wonderful town with superb views.

Room Tip: Go for one of the two rooms at the front with the sea view. A little more expensive but well worth it. Don't worry its on the marine parade the traffic is light and disappears at night.

We had a wonderful experience with Gérard, at his very well kept seafront house. The rooms are comfortable and beautiful, and the host is fun to talk to. We recommend the culturally hybrid breakfast tortilla, an excelent start of the day.

Room Tip: Choose the rooms overlooking the beach!

From the moment we arrived at Mon Logis, we were impressed by the décor and total comfort of this beautiful residence! Our host, Gerard, was very diligent in explaining the various aspects of Mon Logis and offered us full access to the living areas, the breakfast area, the refrigerator and tea/coffee making facilities. We were then taken to our room upstairs which had sweeping views of the ocean plus a lovely outdoor area where we could enjoy a glass of wine! The breakfast was fantastic - courtesy of Gerard! We just loved the omelettes and the entertaining conversation provided by our host added to the atmosphere of a wonderful experience! We will definitely be back Gerard! Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Our room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. On the top floor at the front of the building, we had access to a very nice veranda - we enjoyed sitting out here at all times of the day and night!

We stayed for three nights in one of the front rooms with an ocean view and a long balcony (shared with one other room). We enjoyed our own "happy hour" a couple of evenings -- it was wonderful to have somewhere to sit outside and enjoy the view! Gerard is a very amiable, interesting and helpful host, supplying all kinds of information on local restaurants, wineries and activities. And he cooks a mean omelet!! Breakfast also includes fresh fruit, yogurt, muesli and fresh croissant. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and tidied for us every morning. Mon Logis is located right on Marine Parade across from the park and the ocean, close to Napier's town center, and in walking distance to several good restaurants. (Our meal right next door at Restaurant Indonesia was delicious! And if you tell them you're staying at Mon Logis you get 10% off.) The house has wonderful Victorian character -- it was one of the few buildings to survive Napier's devastating 1931 earthquake. Mon Logis was hands-down our favorite B&B during 10 days in New Zealand. We'll be back!

Room Tip: The rooms with balcony access are worth a little extra -- great place to enjoy a take-out lunch or a glass of wine before dinner.
