“Nice, professional setup.”

Not a big aquarium by international standards but very well set out and a wide range of ( not only fish) marine creatures.

Thank you for commenting. Not everyone realises we also have Kiwi and Tuatara here at the National Aquarium.

“A good time with the sea life”
Reviewed May 31, 2014 via mobile

We visited in the mid afternoon and enjoyed a wander around the aquarium exhibits before watching the brief but informative penguin feeding - probably the highlight of the visit. The underwater tunnel was pretty good so we did that twice. Couldn't find the kiwi though. However the shop and cafe are nothing to write home about. Overall we had a good time.

“national aquarium of new zealand.”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

free dominion newspapers at the exit.
just walk into the cate area, (or say going into the shop), (can get an iceblock or cup of tea...tourist things...)
good toilets there, use them.
then walk down the dark steps from that area into the viewing tank area. walk into the under water tunnel. explore.
see the giant squid.
then walk up ramp on left to first corner, then onto a bit to the first dark archway on your left and just walk it there to explore the rest of the aquarium by just going in with the tourists there.
the best place in the building is the very top of the building which is meant to have a lookout via a prism viewer.
