Another very good Scenic Hotel; on Marine Parade, views of the sea, up to Mahia and out to Cape Kidnappers. Clean, comfortable beds lovely set of pillows and bathroom facilities were very good. Always love the shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and soap and the very effective make up remover. Dining was good: try the passionfruit icecream with salted caramel sauce -yum. Fabulous Hohepa cheese [especially the cumin]. Friendly reception, cleaning and dining service. An asset to Napier. Swimming pool across the road and plenty of seaside walking opportunities. Close to Art Deco area too

From outside this appears to be a rather modern hotel, but beware the bedding must be from the last century! I should have followed my instincts and left after the first contact with reception that was rather cold and unwelcoming even though we had reserved. It’s a sort of do-it yourself type of hotel.
But the worst was actually the state of the beds, so worn and used actually abused is a better word to depict it. There was no support left, it felt like sleeping in a hammock.

Thank you for your comments..these are inconsistant with what we have been told by 220 other Tripadvisor guests that have reviewed Te Pania. Our Hotel has signature bedding which is made in New Zealand the feather toppers are 18 months old they have recieved rave reviews.

The staff were very engaging and genuine. The beds are lovely just what you want when your away from home. Dinner in the restaurant was good quality and well cooked. Only downside is the shower over a bath otherwise it would have been a 5 all round.

Thank you for your lovely comments..which I have passed on to the team.
Our beds are super comfy because of our signatue bedding..its the feather toppers..they are great especially on a cold winters night.
We look forward to your next visit.

We stayed here for one night.

We stayed at Te Pania for a night on a weekend trip.

Staff were friendly during the check in process and kindly gave us a call when our room was ready. I believe all rooms have a sea facing view, which is nice. We requested and received a top floor room.

It's a good location to be based if you want to walk around central Napier. It was very convenient to be able to walk across the road to the Ocean Spa hot pools.

We'd stay here again.

Over the last year I have had reason to stay at Te Pania many times (20 - 30 nights).
The service is fantastic, the rooms are extremely comfortable, proximity to town handy and the superb views of the ocean are an added bonus. Cant really ask for more.

Room Tip: They are all pretty good, the higher up the better though.
