The hotel looks good and is good. Rooms large and airy, and has full facilities.
Bathroom clean and towels changed on a daily basis. Staff was very helpful, and restaurant was good value, with excellent food and deserts. The hotel is situated just a short walk from the town centre, where there is a variety of shops and restaurants to choose from. The town itself is amazing with lots of Art Deco buildings to view.

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the better view (at front only)

The hotel is well located on the edge of the town, in sight of the Cathedral and opposite a regional wine centre where you can spend an hour or so sampling the wines of the Hawkes Bay district.
It is modern, clean and functional, meaning that after you leave you can't remember too much about it. The rooms are large and face out to sea views just across the road. There is a good sized flat screen TV with the volume control set so that it will never disturb the room next door. It means that some of the channels in your own room are almost inaudible. But if it means that I will never hear next door's TV that is OK by me. A novel feature of the bathroom is the provision of a small toilet bag and the suggestion that you scoop up all the unused amenities and take them with you to enjoy later.
The beds are comfortable and everything works. There are two lifts, situated either side of a lobby and their calls are not connected. Moreover, one also functions as a service lift with another door on the service side and it's own call button as well. Impatient guests learn to call both lifts so that delays occur and cause greater impatience. Wierd.
On my first night, in the bar I asked for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and was served something that would pass as battery acid. A look at the list of wines by the glass showed a decent range and although the names meant nothing to me the prices would be a clue to quality. I don't understand why in an region that claims world class wines the hotel would give shelf room to something so grim. It was a perfectly adequate hotel, though a bit on the pricy side for Nw Zealand.

Very nice, modern clean spacious rooms with wonderful views. You have to pay for WiFi which was a little disappointing as wifi should be complimentary in the day and age.

Great views nice room. Close to the town and beach. The lights on the fountain at night are super. Very surprised how quite the town was at night.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor for the views.

I found this place quite average. The front desk service needs attention - the young man could barely crack a smile and was abrupt.

The room was ok - big bed but hard as a rock which did not make for enjoyable sleep.

Overall I would not stay here again given the price.

Fantastic location with easy walking distance to the key attractions Napier had to offer. The hotel had recently been refurbished and the rooms were very comfortable.

We arrived at about 10.30 am in the morning the young receptionist at the desk was a bit rude and this put a bit of a damper on our stay. Other than that overall we had a good experience and would recommend as a good place to stay in Napier.
