Lovely rooms, amazing location. The kitchen is clearly good but service really let it down. Food which was could have been amazing turned up cold or over-cooked. We could hear the kitchen bell dinging furiously as the staff laid up for breakfast around us in an empty room. We had to remind them about parts of our order , ask for water refills 5 times, refill our own wine and clear our own plates. Meanwhile breakfast did get set up and we felt like we were in the way as we tediously spent a lot of money and regretted it. The sad thing was our starters were sublime and we had planned to write this review suggesting the scenic as a true secret gem in napier. We even dreamed of paying an airline fortune to come back for Christmas. Guys, get your act together....you are so close to brilliant, but you need to actually have a dinner service!!! This service was a shambles.
