Beautiful board walk amongst the tree Leading to a slightly harder pathway over rocks and roots to a vista of a waterfall

“One of our favourites!!”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

Being a fan of circular walks this one suits me down to the ground. It takes about an hour so would be suitable for children. the paths are well marked and the views are great, most of it out in the open. The scenery changes with the seasons.

“A great walk in the morning”
Reviewed October 20, 2012

A tranquil, peaceful walk in the early morning. Try and go at high tide if you can. Lots of birdlife and informative signs along the track.

“Calm, pleasant walkway”
Reviewed September 21, 2012

I like this walkway. You can see plenty of wading birds and it is a very serene place. The walkway is well constructed and is a nice diversion away from the main road.

“Interesting nature walk close to town”
Reviewed August 29, 2012

Only a few minutes drive from CBD Napier this easy walk around the Ahuriri Esturary is a delight for families wanting to show the kids interesting bird and estuary wildlife. It can be done in an hour but allow a bit more for stops on the way. A must if visiting Napier
