Felt right at home from the moment I arrived at RedCliffe Homestead. So much so, I was quite sad when I had to leave. Brian and Sue could not be more gracious hosts and after just two short nights, I knew I had two new friends for life. I sincerely wish I had more to spend with them and "the ladies". They are so warm and welcoming and their home and the surrounding property is absolutely lovely. Any fruit you can think of is most likely growing right in the back yard. :) Brian and Sue both arranged for local tours for me and made my experience unforgettable. There's wonderful conversation and great cooking waiting for you at the RedCliffe Homestead. I can only hope to make it back sooner versus later. Love you guys!

Room Tip: The Burgundy room was perfect for me. Bedding was lovely and I slept like a baby.

Our stay was so memorable. Beautiful house and the room had a lovely private veranda. Homemade muesli and preserves for breakfast, baking every day - just lovely! Homestead was surrounded by plants, orchard fruits, birds and quietness. Right in the middle of Hastings/Napier although car needed. Sue and Brian were wonderful hosts and a wealth of knowledge of the area. Will definitely be back - just stunning!!

Room Tip: The private veranda was well worth a bit more to pay...

Our stay was a way too short two nights in March and we could easily have stayed for a week or even two. Absolutely stunningly beautiful homestead !! The Burgundy Room - no words really to describe how lovely it was, and the bed......the most sumptuous of our two weeks in NZ. Sue and Brian are just the sweetest and most lovely couple and shared their wealth of knowledge about the local area and beyond. Sue arranged a wine tour for us with Hamish which was just fantastic, she even packed us muffins and apples for the trip !! Brian happliy drove us to dinner at The Old Church on our 2nd evening, then invited us to join he and Sue and their dinner guest upon our return. We enjoyed wine, great conversation and Sue's delicious chocolate zucchini cake. Yum ! Sophie and Zara, their two pet labradors - I think we both fell in love with those beautiful gentle dogs. It was a delight to see their happy faces at our bedroom patio each morning, waiting for us to open the french doors and come out to pat them. They kept me company while I hung out a load of washing and then sat under the clothesline to keep watch while it dried. Breakfasts were plentiful and delicious - Sue's homemade muffins each morning the highlight and the sweetest grapefruit juice (from their garden) I've ever tasted. Then the apples from the orchard - Brian picked us the largest bag to take with us on our last day. Yummiest apples we have had in ages. Simply stunning homestay with the loveliest hosts you could ask for, and those sweet dogs........ We would not stay anywhere else in Napier.

Room Tip: The Burgundy Room with it's own private patio is just stunning. You will never want to get out o...

We stayed with Sue and Brian for 3 nights in Feb. The burgundy room is finished to the highest standard, as is the rest of this beautiful home. Sue and Brian made us feel like old friends during our stay. Sue organised a wine tour for us and made our reservations for dinner at the Old Church, and also gave us complimentary vouchers for dessert. It's hard to find something new to say, as previous reviewers have said it all, but I think the Redcliffe Homestead deserves a 6 rating and we will stay here again on our next visit to Napier.

We stayed with Sue, Brian, Sophie & Zara for three nights during our recent five weeks trip around NZ. We were made to feel SO welcome from the moment we arrived, there was the cross of St George flying on the flagpole, Sophie & Zara rushed to greet us and Sue appeared with a big smile. Of the fourteen beds we slept in on our tour that in the Burgundy room was the most comfortable, like sinking into clouds! We had booked dinner on the first night which was delicious, made even better by the company of Sue and Brian. Beautiful breakfasts, lots of advice as to how to spend our time in the area, we cannot recommend a stay here highly enough. We would love to go back.

If you are heading for the delightful town of Napier I can unreservedly recommend Redcliffe Homestead. Beautiful surroundings, lovely accommodation and delightful hosts Sue and Brian. Glass of wine on the verandah in the evening, intelligent conversation, wonderfully peaceful, fantastic supper, superb breakfast. As good as it gets. Recommended without hesitation.

Our two nights at Redcliffe Homestead for the Mission Concert weekend couldn't have been better. We would absolutely recommend it as a very special place to stay. The home and garden are delightful and Sue and Brian, helpful and charming in every way. We enjoyed it all - from a superbly comfortable bed, beautiful linen and top-quality bathroom to yummy baked treats and a great breakfast.
