“Good location but no aircon (!!)”
Reviewed January 12, 2013 via mobile

This apartment hotel is in great location and is very clean and well appointed. The reception staff are helpful. Unfortunately we were then when it was very warm and the lack of aircon was a definite minus point. Sleeping in airless room was difficult...Although I can attest to a quiet city area in middle of night - not even barking dogs!! We do note that a/c in NZ is not usual.

Pros are the cleanliness, location, quietness, good bed, toiletries,

Cons are the cost of wifi, no aircon, latch on window room 203 was broken, and windows don't open far to get a good breeze, miserable with the milk, A few touches such as fruit or newspaper or half litre of milk or plunger coffee would make a difference.

We got this room on Wotif.com so didn't mind the tarrif, but would be expensive otherwise.

My wife and I have been traveling New Zealand for the past three weeks and the Quest Serviced Apartments in Napier has been (hands down) the best accommodations we have stayed in so far!!

Their rooms are very modern, spacious, bright and have all the amenities that you would need. They nicely upgraded us to a one bedroom apartment with a large patio and high ceilings.

Even though the rooms were fantastic, the value incredible and the location even better the main memory I left with was how fantastic the staff were.

They helped us book taxis, tours, and airport shuttles, they stored our bags for long periods of times, recommended top notch restaurants, were extremely friendly and most importantly they made us feel comfortable and safe.

I stay in a lot of hotels with my job and this is one of the few times that the staff and the accommodations exceeded my expectations. I would, without hesitation, recommend and rebook this venue again.

I strongly suggest that you check them out!

My only small complaint is that you have to pay for WiFi. This is one of my number one annoyances with hotels, however the staff, value and room upgrade more than made up for this.

Honestly, check them out, you won't regret it!

Room Tip: Feel free to ask them for a room upgrade when you make your booking. If they have room they will up...

After the numerous positive reviews we were disappointed with our stay at the Quest Napier. While it is in a good location the 1 bedroom apartment was more like a studio. The bedroom is separated by a glass sliding door which is not ideal if your partner wishes to stay up late or visit the bathroom. The light from the carpark shines straight in the bedroom window and both nights we were awake at 2am thinking it was morning. The washing machine & dryer were a bonus and the kitchen was huge. However, the lounge area and TV are tiny and not condusive to relaxing. Not one of the best Quests we have stayed at.

Thank you Quest, you provided us with very lovely accommodation . Everything was as we expected. The staff very friendly and helpful. Napier is a beautiful City and we were able to walk where ever we needed too. The sand is incredible, well the black stones. The preservation of the old with the new is a credit to the whole town. The wharf is amazing and the hill just superb. Sitting on a seat, way up there, watching a cruise ship come in - just gorgeous. The shops are full of special little things, amazing what you can find. The Thai shop on the esplanade was delicious. All in all we had a great time, thanks to a wonderful base to operate from.

Room Tip: Be prepared to pay $12 for the car park, however it is worth it.

Beautifully positioned in the heart of Napier, all areas of the town were accessible by foot. Newly refurbished, modern but retaining the old charm of yesteryear the rooms were spacious and the amenities were efficient and stylish. To top it off, the breakfast was very satisfactory and the concierge, Clinton, was very helpful and welcoming.
Could not recommend it more highly.

I stayed here for 4 nights while on business. It was perfect location to where I needed to be.
The staff were so nice and always made you feel welcome from the moment they showed you to the room to every morning when I needed change for car parking. $6 for full day parking in the public car park was perfect.
The room itself had everything I needed. The room was comfortable, nice and big and clean.
It was close to all the shops and short walk to plenty of food places and to the strand. If I ever need to go back to Napier I will stay here again.
