Nice to have these 'object de arts' to take one back to a bygone era only seen previously on the big screen.

This Art Deco walking tour was one of the highlights of our recent stay in the Napier area. The guide was very knowledgeable and we found ourselves fascinated by the Art Deco story. Our only wish was to be able to see some kind of video history of the 1931 Napier earthquake but the rest was all class.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review the Art Deco Trust's guided walks. Our volunteer guides love sharing their enthusiasm about Napier's Art Deco story with our visitors. Were you aware that we have a movie showing every half hour about the 1931 earthquake? It's called The Day That Changed the Bay and is made from a lot of archival footage and is well worth a viewing at $5 per person. This movie is also included free with the 10.00am one hour guided walk, and is available for purchase to view at your leisure at home.

this is a life time experience, dive in on the second week of February to experience the City of Napier transformed back to the old era 19 century, the Art Deco Weekend.
Everyone is dressed in old fashioned dress, antique cars from around the world, WWII planes flying off the coast.

words cannot mention than seeing it yourself !!

The best of all , everything is free

The new headquarters of the Art Deco Trust has been beautifully restored. Lots of information and small theatre to view actual footage of the after effects of the earthquake that gave birth to the Art Deco buildings. The Art Deco Walk is well worth doing.
