“Clean, spacious, great views, good location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2014

3 Bd apartment, 2 bathroom, although the 3rd bedroom would only suit a very heavy sleeper. It is a very small annexe (ex study?) that has been closed in with shutters that don't close properly. If there's anyone watching TV, the person in that annexe can't sleep. The blades on the shutters are fixed and the shutters are too big for the space.
It does have a stove, full sized small fridge and dishwasher. Big kitchen. Washing machine and dryer in your own lock up double garage. BONUS!
Huge lounge room with 2 recliner seats and a 3 seater couch. 6 seat dining room table and 4 outdoor chairs where you can sit and contemplate the stunning views. We were in number 5 (access from the back and top floor), which was on the far side of the WORKING PORT!
There are trucks coming in and out until about 7 pm and don't start again until 7 am. I am a very light sleeper and did not hear anything until the slow cargo train came thru at about 6:45am.
There's also an internal lift that takes your luggage and shopping upstairs. No need to trudge luggage up and down (unless you want the exercise). Main bedroom has a large spa bath, toilet and in tub shower. We couldn't use the shower bec the head was faulty and it would spray water straight out onto the floor. I reported it and should be fixed. We didn't mind using the other shower cubicle. Second bathroom has a bathtub, shower cubicle and sink. Separate toilet.
Short drive to town or a brisk 20min walk. Not that close.

Room Tip: Most northern is best. Away from the container terminal view.

We, a family of five have just stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment.
Lounge/ dining is huge and has stunning water views, air conditioning.
Very large balcony off lounge.
Full kitchen with dishwasher.
Bedrooms and bathrooms are of a very good size.
Nice safe swimming beach for families across the road.
As mentioned, these apartments are right by Port so noisy at times but didn't really worry us too much.
Its not really walkable from shops and Restaurants.
The free wifi access was great, we would definitely stay here again

We stayed here in August 2013 in one of the 3 bedroom apartments. The apartment was on three levels with a garage and laundry on the ground floor, open plan kitchen/lounge/dining + toilet on the second floor, and 3 bedrooms + ensuite and full bathroom on the third floor. The views were beautiful and overall the furnishing were in decent condition and the apartment clean. But, as many other reviewers have mentioned the noise from the port traffic was fairly constant and disruptive for the light sleepers in our group. Due to the lack of sleep, I would only recommend this place for those who are either heavy sleepers and use to traffic noise, or those who are happy to wear earplugs to bed.

Be aware when staying at these aparatments. We booked online after viewing the photo's which showed a bveautiful view of the water and the promise of nearby amenities. ie: shops and hotels. What you do not see on the webpage is the fact that Port Napier is directly across the road with trucks coming and going from approx 7.30am till approx 7pm at night. Some creative photography. Noise all day. There is also a train that runs into the port and it goes DAY & NIGHT, directly across the road. It took well over 1/2hr to walk to a hotel for a refreshing beer and do not contemplate walking to the shops unless you are a marathon walker. Upon returning the keys following our stay and complaining about the situation the staff were not interested and in fact turned their back on my wife and her friend. The units themselves are OK but their position is terrible if you want peace and quiet. There is no mention made of this when booking.

Room Tip: Do not aty here if you want peace and quiet. Overpriced all things considered. Indifferent staff.

Stayed one night with friends in two and a half bedroom apartment. Could easily have stayed longer. Big kitchen dining lounge area with balcony and views right across the bay. Master bedroom with en suite with all the frills like dressing room and spa bath. Second bedroom smaller but well appointed. Third bedroom was really an annexe off the main room but would work for a small person. Double garage underneath.
Location is great and easy to find but is more than a short stroll away from the town area. Guests would need a car. Or a bicycle. It is over the road from the Napier port and which is a main road with railway line. Tthere were a lot of train and truck movements as well as cars heading to and from the town centre.
It is a spacious upmarket town house. Not something designed for travelers - but there is no drawback in having a bit of luxury at a price that does not break the bank. Like being upgraded form economy to business class. This showed in the way the property was presented. Clean and organized enough but not quite at the level you get when staying at a dedicated hotel motel or serviced apartment complex.
There was no on site manager. The apartments are managed by a facility a little further along the road which is where check in and payment is done and keys picked up. No troubles with that arrangement which worked easily and well.
Overall a place I would be very happy to stay at again and for a longer time. The expansive views, upmarket furnishings and great living space make up for bedrooms that look out on a retaining wall and rear carpark and are a bit small in comparison to the spaciousness of the rest. And internal bathrooms that could do with more air circulation.

Room Tip: Good for a family or two couples but have a system to sort out who gets the master bedroom and who g...

I have stayed at these apartments a few years ago and decided to stay again. The apartments are like s house. We stayed in a three bedroom. The views are fantastic with the lounge overlooking the sea. The apartments are light and roomy and modern.
The port of napier is just over the road so trucks go in and out quite a bit but not too bad.
I highly recommend these apartments.

Be careful. This building directly overlooks the container ship harbour (honestly) and also suffers from the noise of constant heavy traffic delivering containers. The apartments themselves are a little tired, but comfortable. We checked in and then checked straight out again. The manager of the nearby Harbour View Motor Lodge (who manages this property), could not have been more helpful and provided us with delightful accommodation in Harbour view (a much better property). High season rates are $250 a night for 2 bedrooms.

Room Tip: Check out location on Google street level. Consider the Harbour View Lodge.
