“Great position, great views”

After a long drive from Wellington the Motor Lodge was easy to find. We found the staff to be friendly and very helpfull. We had a one bedroom apartment and were pleasently suprised at its size. The furnishings were modern, the bed was comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. There were two large flat screen T.V,s one in the lounge the other in the bedroom. The view from the balcony was stunning.
Being off the the main road there was no trafic noise. Position was good only five minute drive to Napier CBD and within a ten minutes walk of several good eateries.
We would gladly stay there again.

Room Tip: First floor for beat views

We stayed here for 2 nights, and didn't get a good night's sleep on either. Firstly as it was noisy during the night with people returning to their rooms and secondly as children were riding up and down on their bikes outside our patio door! Neither of these were the motel's fault though - but it is something that can happen with the set up of the motel (a restaurant/bar right next door and no dividers between patio areas).
The room was large and comfortable, the bathroom clean and spacious. There was a great view out to the harbour, and a lovely walk along the promenade right outside. There are 3 great restaurants within 3 minutes walking distance (a Thai, Indian and Italian).
You would need a car to stay here as Napier would be a good 20 min walk away.

Room Tip: An upstairs room would probably be quieter.

This place is simply impressive regarding location ...we had an upper level studio with balcony for $155.00 . It is the only place in Napier where there is not a road in between the hotel and sea..we went for a walk on the walkway & boardwalk which is right in front of Harbourview. Last time we stayed at Pebble Beach on marine parade....this place is way better !!!! We had dinner at the restaurant right in front of Harbour View called East Pier ($30 a main ) waslovely food.. however service was abit slow. Will be staying here again next time in Napier...also has free broadband wireless internet !!! A must indeed.

This Motel is a most for everybody who likes to stay in Napier. Quiet and with a fantastic view. The host did everything for us to make the stay comfortable. The nearby restaurant East Pier serves wonderful food. The near harbour would be for sailors a good address as well. To go to Napier you need a car. We will come back asap.

Motels are by far the best value for accommodation whilst travelling around New Zealand. We came across this one after arriving in Napier, Hawkes Bay & decided to stay for 3 days. We were offered an executive suite for the price of a standard chalet. Very clean, modern & perfect positioning with the beach only 30yds from our patio doors - mind you, the beach quality wasn't A+ standard but that didn't detract from the experience. Only 2mins away from a number of eateries & 5mins drive from the town centre of Napier which afforded plenty of good shops. Fully recommended........

After finding just one review of this motor lodge, I am pleased to record another (following our stay) to flag the terrific seaside setting and great accommodation. We had chosen a studio apartment that was the size of a five star hotel room with its own sliding door directly onto our own patio area and own furniture. All units have the same sea side views across the lawn and boardwalk to the sea. The location is off the main road, so was quite and this great stay was marred only by some rowdy neighbours for a but that is hotelling!

Frimly recommended.
