This was by far the nicest of the places that we stayed at during our week on the North Island of New Zealand.
Margaret and John were splendid hosts and made us feel very much at home.
We even had access to the fridge in their kitchen to store our bottle of wine and tonic water (for GTs).
Their knowledge of Napier was great and they were able to provide us with all sort of ideas and directions for getting around in the two days we were there. We even met one of their good friends who had called in to see them.
Our room didn't have its own en suite bathroom but this didn't matter as we had our own dedicated bathroom around the corner. Both the bedroom and the bathroom couldn't have been cleaner or better equipped. I don't know how they managed to maintain it so well. The continental breakfast was exactly right.
Nesthaven is not within walking distance of the city centre, so its greatest appeal will be to people who are driving around New Zealand.
However, it is located near to a wine growing area, so we rented bikes and toured two of the nearby vineyards.
Wished we could have stayed longer. Extremely good value.More
