Robert & Wendy were the kindest and most welcoming of hosts. Their knowledge of the local area was fantastic as was spending some of our time with them. The property was beautiful and the food magnificent . The whole experience was a wonderful two days we will certainly be back for a longer stay and would highly recommend Robert & Wendy's Mission B & B as we have to family and friends back home in Australia Thanks again Robert & Wendy for a great stay from Dave, Bev, Rob & Tammy

Beautiful B and B and the kindest, most lovely hosts. I totally underestimated the Mission B and B when I booked it. The advertising does not do it justice at all. it is a beautiful home with a large spacious lounge that the warm sun pores in to. Huge TV to watch the rugby on or simply curl up on the large sofa's and use the wireless internet or read a book. Rooms are beautifully set out. Far nicer and more personal than many hotels I have stayed at. The breakfasts were divine. Wendy and Robert were such lovely hosts. Highly ,Highly recommend as a great place to stay. Will definitely be a repeat visitor when we return to Napier.

We can't stop recommending Robert & Wendy's Mission B&B on the Avenue to friends since we came back. Everything is as listed in their listing, and more! The hosts are very lovely to be with and made our travel in Napier as pleasant and memorable as it can ever be.

Room Tip: Book early to secure the room that has a private entrance!

Mission B&B on the Avenue is very close to Mission Estate, which was where our friend held his wedding. Wendy and Robert were extremely warm and welcoming, and really took care of us. A must stay if you are going to Napier!

Appreciate your kind words and thanks for the great review! It gives us great pleasure to host International visitors, especially from across the Tasman. Our position, just 250m from the gates of NZ's oldest winemakers, THE MISSION ESTATE, is indeed convenient for those attending weddings or functions there. It's an easy 5 minute walk. Since you were here, a NEW addition is the walking / biking track across the Taipo stream from us, in the domain which once were all vineyards. Thanks for coming to us, and we hope to see you the next time you are in NAPIER.
cheers,
RS&W

We thought that this would be an old house - as we knew about the Mission winery. However it This is in a beautiful spot and as it was called the Missionary and we knew of the Mission winery we thought the house was very old but it isn't although according to Simon it is.
We were welcomed with a bottle of local red accompanied by a potted history of the B and B and Simon and Wendy which was lovely. The rooms were comfortable. We were lucky to get the larger bedroom with a lovely outlook. The other bedroom is smaller. We enjoyed the home theatre. Simon and Wendy are very attentive hosts.
It is a lovely place to walk around although when we were there it was a little wet so limited our walking. It is very close to the winery and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal there.
It is a little way from Napier but if staying for a while is probably very central for lots of different places in the area.

Room Tip: As in most places that we visited - there is always a big room and then a second smaller room - not...

Thanks for coming to us, & taking time to review. Happy you enjoyed staying with us! Conveniently located walking distance to NZ's oldest winery (Mission) in a lovely residential Napier street & a 6 minute drive to both the CBD & Napier port precinct (Ahurihi), Mission B&B on the Avenue offers visitors a 'quiet' alternative to 'inner city'. Our property, Taipo stream at the rear, views to the Sugarloaf Peak & vineyards 250m away has a 'rural' feel. Twas our pleasure hosting you & hope to see you again soon. Robert Simon & Wendy

Wendy and Robert are the most warm and welcoming hosts I've ever met. If you're looking to stay in the Napier area, I'd highly recommend this B&B.

Hosts - Robert and Wendy are genuinely interested in their visitors and were very helpful in pointing out local hidden gems, restaurants, wineries, and scenic routes. They have an in-depth knowledge of the area and its history, and also provided us with suggestions for the rest of our NZ trip.

Food - Everything is fresh, natural, homemade and delicious. At check-in, we were met with a plate of homemade pumpkin and goat cheese scones. Breakfast included homemade preserves and butters (the peanut butter was world-class), homemade granola, greek yogurt, a beautiful display of fresh fruit (you must try the golden kiwi), our choice of toasted breads, honey, real maple syrup, and a pot of tea. That was just the continental option and it was very filling - I can't imagine what you'd get for the full breakfast option.

Property - The house has four bedrooms - 2 of them have an ensuite, while the other two share a bathroom. There's also a large eat-in kitchen and living room with a big screen tv, comfy couches and a warm fireplace. The rooms are well decorated and come with all kinds of thoughtful touches including foldable benches to lay your suitcase on, reading lamps, and more. The Mission Estate Winery is just down the road from the B&B, plus you're a short drive from downtown Napier and Ahuriri.

Thank you for the lovely review. Pleased we were able to look after you during the NAPIER visit.
Food is important to us, and we do source the best & freshest locally. Our peanut butter is produced IN HOUSE from freshly roasted peanuts using our new grinder. Agreed, it IS yummy!
A 'cooked' breakfast comprises: best locally produced bacon / sausage / eggs most styles with sides which change seasonally. Omelettes are a house speciality. Waffles. recently added to the menu have been popular, served with fresh strawberries and Canadian maple syrup. Most conserves are home produced & breads sourced from local artisans. It was our pleasure hosting you. Appreciate the kind words & thanks for taking time to post your comments.
