The tea and home-made goodies on the decking by the pool were very much appreciated after our drive from Rotorua. Jenny goes the extra mile to ensure that you get a warm welcome. Our room was spacious with a wonderfully large comfortable bed. We also had access to a sitting room with tea/coffee/cake. Breakfasts were great with delicious bacon, a great selection of juices, fruit and home-made preserves. Lovely chats with Jenny about Napier's history and culture, things to do and see etc. Beautifully sunny weather when we were there but rather too chilly to use the pool.

Our stay at Kerry Lodge was pleasant. it was clean, quiet, warm and closeby to the things we wanted to do in Napier. It was nice that bed linen and other things like cooking utensils were supplied so we didnt need to bring these things. We found Napier to be a welcoming peaceful place to vacation and will definitely keep it in mind during the summer.

We were greeted warmly, offered tea and cookies. Jenny Hoffman, our host gave great sight seeing suggestions, made dinner reservations for us. The breakasts were delicious and filling with many homemade items. She let me do a load of laundry and then proceeded to hang it , take it down and return it to us all folded - truly above and beyond the call of duty.

Our room was spacious and spotless, all in all we would highly recommend this B & B to anyone traveling in the Hawke's Bay area of North Island, New Zealand.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Welcome to Kerry Lodge. We are situated in the heart of Taradale, just ten minutes from Napier, 15 minutes from Hastings and only minutes away from New Zealand's two oldest wineries, Church Road Winery and Mission Estate Winery. Ideally placed for all Hawke's Bay activities. Our premises include a fully self contained two bedroom cottage and two large bed and breakfast rooms in the "big house". We are situated on a quiet back section in half an acre of gardens. After a day's sightseeing you are welcome to take a dip in the pool or join us relaxing on the deck. There is also a guest lounge with tea and coffee making facilities and some light reading. Or, to completely unwind, you might like to book a massage (charged separately) with Fiona who is a trained massage therapist. Because Hawke's Bay is one of the sunniest and warmest areas in New Zealand, it is a wonderful place to visit and holiday in - with fabulous world class vineyards through to stunning Art Deco architecture. We look forward to sharing it with you. PS. We also have a rehomed greyhound, Mu-mu. Mu-mu has free range of the back of the house but to her great disappointment she is not allowed in the guest areas of the house. ... more   less
