A little dark inside but lots of charm. Large fires burning in winter. Interesting and friendly staff. Tuesdays for senior citizens with reduced prices. I love their roast dinners. Not far from nz's largest shopping centre.

Went to watch the All Blacks game. Had few drinks and tasty satisfying meal outside by the fire, Cosy. Then moved inside for game. Big screen and TVs for all to view. Lovely atmosphere. Great to have a tab and settle at end of night - convenient. Tried $10 cocktails. Very nice and different touch - served in a jar. Nice night out, At beginning of evening very busy so maybe more staff should have been on due to test match happening.

This used to be a good pub/restaurant when they brewed their own beer or at least had decent craft beers on tap. Sadly it has gone down in quality both in its food and beers ever since new owners took over and decided to stock the same old commercial brews available everywhere. The C&B was different when it opened but no longer.

Stopped in for lunch and sat outside on bar stools. Not usually keen on sitting on stools, however these ones were padded which made them comfortable. I had a dozen thai style mussels with garlic bread which were absolutely delicious and a cocktail. My daughter-in-law had a chicken burger which was also good. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating of my daughter-in-law requests for changes to her burger.
The menu is vast and really good value for money. I am keen to come back and try the roast beef with yorkshire pudding as I have heard good things about this particular dish from others.

Great place to catch up with friends. Came here on Anniversary weekend (public holiday) bonus was no surcharge. Had refreshing drinks outside and a lovely lunch. Wonderful outside seating area, umbrellas for shade. Heaps of free parking. Pleasant staff. Bit slow with our drinks but was a busy day. Will be back
