“A hidden hideaway”

Nice walk on a Sunday afternoon with family and the dog. Very informative place. Heaps of chickens and ducks. Great place for a picnic or a quiet bbq with friends.

“Great for the family”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

I have taken several people here now, even people from Hamilton that did not know it existed.
I love the fact that there are heaps of chicken and duck and swan everywhere, if you take some bread and rustle the bag, the chickens and roosters come charging from everywhere and will follow you until you stop feeding them.

It is a real treasure, some real picturesque spots, takes about 45 minutes, there is a bamboo part that we pretend a Panda lives in and a circle of trees that we pretend the witches gather at night and cast spells, it really is a great place for kids to let their imagination run wild.

It was informative, but a little too rambling and difficult to follow at times. I went in Autumn and it was a little wet and damp for me too enjoy. Might go on a more sunnier day.

“So Peaceful, So Beautiful”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

Taitua is a real treasure just minutes from the city. Nature-lovers will be delighted. The Arboretum is sometimes used for weddings. Come visit and you'll see why. We make a habit of going whenever we are in the area and enjoy the lakes especially. Consider walking from the city on a nice day: Park in Melva Street, Dinsdale, walk up the hill to Till's Lookout (great views of Hamilton here) and along the signposted concrete walkway to Wallace Road. The views of the countryside along this route are something special. The path is part of the Te Araroa walkway through the length of New Zealand.
