Congratulations Dorothy and John for creating this little bit of heaven. Visit if you can and see what 2 passionate people can create in an attempt to make our world a better place.
Starting off some 15 years ago, Dorothy and John bought a disused quarry and its associated 17 hectares of land, that nobody else had any use for. They have worked hard at planting and have lovingly turned it into a beautiful garden surrounded by forest . Here you can go for a 2 km round walk and in the process see an array of sculptures set against a backdrop of streams, ponds, steep cliffs, trees and shrubs. We especially loved the pond in the old quarry which was well-stocked with waterlilies and lotus plants. The sculptures are contemporary and weren't all to our taste but that's the joy of looking at art.
We actually felt good about paying an admission fee, feeling that we were in a small way playing a part in Dorothy and John's project and its environmental and aesthetic contribution.
We were able to makes ourselves a cup of tea or coffee at the beginning and end of our walk which was a very hospitable touch too.
