Amazing place in the outskirts of Gisborne. Took advantage of a sunny weekend in May and combined with the Motel's low season offer, I had a blast of a time. Even used the pool for a swim! Friendly service, rooms very stylish and clean. Did I mention the free wifi and laundry room? What else can a guy ask for? I was going to watch a SKY movie but read that the Motel was offering a free use of Playstation 3 with movies + games!!!!!! It was first come, first serve so I jumped at the offer. I was going to hit the town but ordered pizza and stayed up till 3am! Woke up late and asked for Late check-out. No problem there either! I think I will be taking more weekends off in the low season!

Room Tip: Best room for solo/couples is no7. Loads of space, spa bath and amazing decor.for only $25 extra.

Stayed there for just one night off-season, liked it. The one bedroom unit was somehow compact, but clean and well maintained.

I only wish it had a little more furniture and not so minimalistic style. E.g. if you use the (rather small) round table for dinner, you can't even find a place to put the tv magazine except the floor, couch or bed. It's similar in the bathroom. No place to put the toilet bag at all.

Thank you for your comments. We have been addressing the storage issue but started adding shelves to the family rooms. We hope to have rectified it in all the rooms by the time of your next visit.
Please do not hesitate to ask as we sometimes upgrade clients to bigger rooms (subject to availability).

We stayed 2 nights in Gisborne driving to Bay of Plenty via the Waioeka Gorge. W O W, the real NZ.
When one wants value for $ and wishes quiet tidy clean & friendly motel accommodation, THIS is the place.
It's a MOTEL; one drives in and parks outside the room. Old fashioned Kiwi welcome with a little bottle of milk for the room. make one's OWN cuppa. Basic self contained accommodation with a little fridge, microwave, toaster, a GREAT shower!, comfy bed, crystal clear TV which works well on ALL channels, picnic table outside & a swimming pool which was closed for the season.
Well managed & maintained property gets our top rating in it's class.

We very much enjoyed our night at Motel Oasis. The room was spacious, clean and new, nicely located just out of town. The service was great, nothing to fault! It was very reasonably priced and it was a great nights top over.

We stayed here in February 2013 and loved it. Sadly we could stay only one night as we really felt looked after. Rooms are really nicely furnished and have some nice touches. Clean, tidy and we slept like in heaven. The pool is really nice too and the entire complex is well maintained. Also many thanks to Linn as she is a great host and recommended some nice places to eat and offered us to arrange a booking. Location not in town but quiet and just 5 minutes drive into town.

Room Tip: Room 10 is nice.

I had pre booked our stay at the Oasis Motel before our motorbike trip around the East Cape so really only had Trip Advisor & their website to go on. Generally TA reviews were good so I was happy.
I hadn't told them we were on motorbikes so Ling looked a bit surprised. She recovered well when she realised we weren't evil bikers.
Our unit was lovely, clean & bright & breezy. The fold out couch/bed was required but no problem.
After a long hot & dusty ride we considered the pool but a beer & a meal at the local Lone Star won out. Because we were going to have a beer & wine in town we asked about a taxi. Ling very kindly offered to run us into town, 4 kms away. Over & above the call of duty, and very much appreciated.
After a pleasant evening it was a taxi trip back to our unit, we had a DVD to watch and no DVD player! No problem for Ling, she produced one that worked well.
Our comfortable beds called. The motel is on the main road into town but despite this the traffic noise was barely noticesble and didn't effect anyone's sleep.
The next morning saw us having breakfast at Cafe Ruba, recommended by Ling
I would stop at Oasis again and recommend this motel.

Dear Auckland Jafa,

First of all apologies for the delay in responding to your review. Secondly we would like to inform you that we although we have not responded immediately, we had already read it and taken some action: regarding the DVD, now ALL our rooms have standard DVD/Playstation consoles with a free library of Games and Movies. And if you want to play the games or watch the movies with your friends, you can also use the conference room with the new 51 inch TV. We also offer Board Games and Minigolf on our large garden area. Finally Ling has now moved to Hamilton but the management and the service remains as friendly and efficient as ever. We would love to see you again. Please call us and don't forget to mention that you are a returning customer in order for us to give you the absolutely best rate possible. Motorbikes are always welcome!
