As the name suggests, this motel is a true Oasis of style and comfort. Warm friendly staff, that make you feel instantly welcome and happy to be staying at this location. The rooms are fresh, light airy and well decorated. The Motel is family friend, with the jewel in the crown being the fantastic swimming pool complex, this kids just loved it. Would recommend this to any of my friends that are travelling with their kids. Thanks again Oasis Motel.

We read reviews before booking and to our delight the motel actually more than lived up to its great reviews. The rooms were meticulously decorated and spacious with very comfortable beds. The manager was so courteous and helpful that she made us feel like we were the only guests in the place even though it was extremely busy. In our travels it is very rare when a place you stay more than lives up to your expectations. Can't wait to come back this way again!

Thank you for your feedback, and your being very understanding about little glitches at a busy time of year.

We love to see our guests enjoying the pool and the motel in general, and appreciate your comments very much.

I look forward to seeing your family here again. Perhaps by then we will have a set of swings in the corner!

Best Wishes for 2013

Very nice motel here. The receptionist/manager was extremely helpful and the room very clean and modern. They were a few glitches but nothing that really bothered us much. During the day the pool at the Motel was great. I think for Kids maybe there could be some swings or something else but we were happy! Went for some long romantic sunset walks down to a local beach. The manager helped us order delivery food a couple of nights and there is a small supermarket close by. Also a nice kitchen inside the room when you want to cook. It's definitely nicer than any Motel we've used before. It is quite close to the road but the big wall around the motel makes you feel secure that the kids can't wander off. I'd stay here again for sure!

Hello Tara
Thank you for your positive feedback - Motel Oasis surprises a lot of our guests in respect to how quiet and secure it is behind the wall. Let's hope it becomes more and more an open secret!
We enjoyed having you to stay, and we are looking into putting some swings in for the children this summer.
Best wishes for 2013, and we look forward to a return visit!

We are a family of 5 and we stayed 5 nights at the Oasis. The motel is very modern, beautifully decorated and had everything we wanted. The kitchen area is small but adequate in the room.
We were most impressed with the wonderful pool area which was immaculate and well laid out with plenty of seating.
Ling was very friendly and made us welcome.
It was a few minutes drive out of the main centre of town and away from most of the other motels but we enjoyed the rural setting and my husband did enjoy his walk into town one morning. It is still on a main road but the complex is well designed and separated from the road by a wall and traffic noise was minimal.
It is near the beautiful Sponge Bay and Wainui beaches which are both worth a visit.
We are happy to recommend this motel and would happily stay there again.

Room Tip: If you want great Wifi connection (which was free!) then a room nearer the office is probably best...

I think we would have had a near perfect time at Motel Oasis had we not stayed in the thick of the busy New Year period. Wanted a treat after a few days of hot camping and stinky toilets so chose Motel Oasis for a bit of luxury. The room was nice, clean and big, with a big tv that didn't pick up any of the Sky TV that was advertised, or even channel 3. We asked about it and the owner had no idea what to do about it. Woke the next day to discover no hot water, which meant the spa bath wasn't going to be used and the owner suggested we jump in the pool. Luckily my partner thought of using one of the empty units, so we were able to clean ourselves in the used bathroom of previous occupants. The owner was nice and seem genuinely sorry about it, we were refund down to the standard studio rate. Still, if I'd known what we were going to get for the money paid I would have booked elsewhere. Probably a case of bad timing but perhaps they could be a bit more prepared for busy periods.

I apologise profusely and sincerely for your bad experience at Motel Oasis, which was hugely embarrassing and disappointing to me also.

My comment about jumping in the pool was an attempt to bring a little humour to a stressful situation, but it was obviously a silly thing to say, for which I apologise.

I did get a replacement gas bottle and a SKY technician here later that same day, which was the best I could do, and all was sorted out, but sadly that was too late for you.

I hope that you will visit us again and accept a free night in our luxury spa bath room as a compensation for your bad experience at New Year.

Best Wishes for your 2013

I stayed in this motel for 2 nights during the week, in a studio unit with a Queen bed. It was very tastefully decorated with items you would not normally find in a motel room such as driftwood, items for the beach and some very authentic wooden petrels. The unit is modern and very nice - no lingering 'motel' smells. The host was very friendly and has the right to feel proud of the motel and its surrounds. It has a wonderful pool area.
I came to this motel on recommendation of a lady in a supermarket. I have stayed in other motels in Gisborne and found them to be a little run down. I will be staying here again next time I have business in Gisborne.
The premises should be more correctly listed as "Oasis Motel" Gisborne.

Thank you very much indeed for your great review. We are glad you appreciated the little wooden petrel and 'beachy' bits; we hope they provide a slightly more 'home-away-from-home' feel to our rooms.
It was a pleasure having you here as a guest and we look forward to seeing you when you return.

Lovely pool, rooms freshly decorated. We had a one bedroom for a family of four, plenty of space. Room to prepare simple meals. Fabulous bathroom with spa bath. Very quiet. Would benefit from some play equipment, even if only a simple slide & swing set. Would definately stay there again.

First of all - please accept my apologies for the lateness of my response. Being no 'techno genius', I have only just found out how to respond to reviews!
We thank you very much for your very positive review from when you and your family stayed at our motel in March 2012. And your suggestion regarding basic play equipment has been taken on board - thank you!
We are looking into the best option for child safety etc.
We hope we will see you and your family again - please watch out for our changed name as we are now Motel Oasis, but still the same place.
