I attended a private function here and was impressed with the friendliness of the waitstaff and the quality of the specially prepared snacks served. I returned a few days later for lunch and met some friends by chance. I ordered the Thai beef yellow curry and my friends had sandwiches. I enjoyed the curry though it lacked any chile punch. It was creamy and had great kaffir and lemongrass notes. The beef was plentiful and tender and the potatoes were done but firm. All in all a delicious lunch. My friend's sandwiches looked tasty enough and they thoroughly enjoyed them. They also had coffee and were quite happy. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, the place was busy though not packed and most if not all those present were locals. Lunch service was quick but not accomplished by rushing the patrons. The sidewalk tables are quite sunny but offer umbrellas in the heat.

This is a great choice for breakfast in Gisborne. I'd be very confident in recommending it for lunch too.

The service was prompt and courteous

Only down was our rather wobbly table.

@SimonF. If it's overpriced for him, he must be on a tight budget, cause you defiantly get your money's worth. Try living in Christchurch.

was here 4 times the week I spent in Gisborne paddling with friends to get ready for the Takapuna Beach Cup last Feb. Egg dishes were tasty, as were the scones, and all the coffee drinks (large whites, delish!) everything is well made, friendly service.
