We go there every time we are in town, despite living at the other end of the island. The first time we went it was due to the big Auckland powercut a few years back, they were the only place open due to the wood fire cooking. We fell in love with the mood lighting, (nothing to do with the power but I am sure) the friendly service and delicious food. Great value for money, service and atmosphere. We love to share a vegetarian platter, they are nice for a couple or to split with fussy kids - there is something for everyone. The pizzas are fantastic, they have a wide range and they are easily enough for two.

We went to the Ponsonby Road Turkish Cafe on a quiet December evening for a light dinner. There were few diners so the restaurant was quiet, the waitress attentive and food served in good time. I went for a classic lamb sharwarma, washed down with a Efes Pilsen beer, and my dining partner chose a chicken donner kebab. Both dishes were very good, full of delicate flavours, with each mouthful being followed by another. We were hungry when we went in, very satisfied when leaving.
