We really looked forward to this meal after hearing so many good things. We opted for the 10 course degustation but were frankly losing the will to live as the mediocre succession of dishes dragged on. The dishes were a repetition of flavours. Nothing really new tickled our taste buds as the night crept by. Many dishes, both sweet and savoury, were covered in what our waiter called 'foam' - it may have been good for putting out fires, but also totally smothered the dishes underneath. I had the wine degustation which was also boring in parts (but not as bad as the food). The predinner cocktail list was limited. The only bright spot was that our waiter was a delight and all the staff were excellent. The decor is minimalist 'don't mess with me' with angular furniture, with little colourful art and dim lighting - which may suit the 'Masters of the Universe' Auckland 'movers and shakers' types. Won't be returning and would only recommend it to those with more money than sense (who will be there anyway!).
