This is the first time we have been back to Hammerheads since the Restaurant reopened after closing to renovate after a large fire in the kitchen area.
It had been a long standing favourite of ours for many years and we loved to reserve a window table looking out to the city and the harbour. They have changed the round tables to square and oblong ones and although still have starched white tablecloths the tabletops are covered in brown paper which real ruins the atmosphere - it definitely isn't fine dining any more.
It was also very noisy and a large party at the next table prevented us as a couple from having a normal conversation.
The menu is much more limited than previously and most of the fish was with Asian flavourings - more confusion than fusion. I used to look forward to the start of the scallop season to eat here, but found them dreadfully disappointing on this occasion and chose a fairly average steak for my main.
The desserts were pleasant but not enough to draw us back again - at least until they get rid of the brown paper!!
