Located outside the city of Auckland is this peaceful setting dedicated to establishment of a Maori Parliament in the 19th Century (1860-1880) with the assistance of Michael Joseph Savage, the Prime Minister of the Labour Government. There is an monument in the center of the beautiful gardens. A great of place for photos. The site overlooks the city of Auckland, Rangitoto Island, and Hauraki Gulf. The grounds sit on Maori land. A great place for a picnic or just relaxing. Parking is free and next to the park.
