So mant times restaurants with stunning views are almost lazy because they can be....

This couldn't be further from the truth on top of the sky tower at the sugar club.

From the moment we arrived we experienced a wonderful night of excellence from the pre dinner drinks, the service and the food.. Simply stunning.. Can't wait to return

Four of us decided to ring out the old year with a late lunch at the Sugar Club. So glad we made this decision as the food was very tasty and a menu so interesting we could not decide what to order. In the end we each had 5 courses You order per person from two to 5 courses priced per number of courses ordered. We arrived a bit early so decided to have a seat in the small lounge area where you could watch the bungy jumpers and sky walkers prepare for their adventure.
We were then shown to our table with a fantastic view from the 53rd floor. One of our high light dishes was the Saffron paddle crab. I could have eaten two of these dishes, rich but ever so delish. Octopus with smoked mash, thai venison salad and the crayfish were also very good. We really look forward to visiting this restaurant again to try some new dishes and revist some others. The deserts were out there. The basil and white chocolate mousse was fresh and like nothing we have experienced and the peanut butter parfait with enoki mushrooms was well worth making room for. Service from start to finish was ecellent and free sparkling water was poured through out the meal.
The view over the Auckland harbour and bridge was great and we had fun watching the sky walkers get their photos taken and giving them a wave. We look forward to a return visit to the Sugar Club.

We were celebrating a significant birthday so decided to try The Sugar Club. A lovely summer evening, a spectacular view and a very comfortable lounge for a pre-dinner drink. The meal itself -small plates offering a variety of combinations- offered some of the most delicious food we have ever tasted. Unusual combinations, but all blending into a "taste from heaven"! Two plates each made up a satisfactory main course, and the deserts were to die for. Sparkling water was complimentary, as was a great selection of breads. The service was excellent - friendly and very efficient. On top of all this was a complimentary carpark and free access to the two Sky Tower viewing platforms. Would we go back? Can't wait!!

A must do when visiting Auckland on a nice day. Well set out menu with small courses and you can have as many as you like. Food very good and the view to die for. Emily our waitress was outstanding and there was nothing we had to ask for, she was very attentive. Excellent Overall.

Shooting right to the top of the Sky Tower in elevator with glass floor and views over Auckland is a great start to this restaurant. Sitting right by where the sky walk where we had pre dinner drinks with the amazing 180deg views and guessing at times you would see people walling outside but not this night. We then went to our table and were wowed by amazing sunset. The food is small dishes, entree sized (appetiser depending on where you come from) ..... Good amounts though. There were 6 of us and each had three dishes with 2 table sized side dishes, which we truly didn't need and hardly got touched. The food is very very good and the staff are very well trained. Our French waiter could professionally answer any question we threw at him and had a wonderful personality. My problem is with the dress standard. The Sugar Club is not a restaurant that I would expect to see jeans and t/shirt as acceptable dress but jeans appeared to be a consistent theme, which was disappointing. The decor could also be a little better constructed. Between the lifts and the seating area is what I would call cheap trellising and each time staff walked pass this would 'wobble' and the table decor is a let down for such a lovely venue. The food menu at the restaurant and on line are without price which is a little disconcerting when you are ordering....not knowing how much you are spending plus the wine,( which does come with prices) is expensive.
Just come dressed casual..... Would I wear Jeans,definitely not but you don't ned a jacket nor a cocktail style dress.... Enjoy your dinner, its worth it for the food.
