The husband and I had lunch at Ortolana today. We shared a mushroom and mozzarella piadina to start which although very tasty, frankly did not have enough mozzarella to warrant it's mention in the ingredients. We followed this up with the zucchini dish which was a kind of deconstructed summer lasagna and a crayfish pasta dish. Both were surprising and excellent. We then had as recommended by our excellent waitress, a strawberry and panacotta tart from Milse (where Ortolana get's its desserts) which was both light and flavoursome and with wonderfully crunchy pastry. The two macaroons that we also ordered were garishly coloured, dry and not very nice sadly. The coffee was also very good.
All in all a lovely place and I am sure we will return, although hopefully next time we will not have the misfortune of sitting next to an extremely loud, fast talking South American woman and her friend, our ears were ringing by the time we left!
