This hotel provided the essentials: a clean room / bathroom. A small cafe n the lobby, wifi for a fee (this is typical throughout NZ). We were walking distance from the needle, and a bunch of shops and restaurants and cafes. Up Queen Street, and to the right, there's a pizza shop where you can grab a beer and a takeaway pie.
Note: there is no A/C in the room, but you can open the windows. There IS a small heater in the room.
The only thing you should be aware of is that if you're on one of the rooms facing Scotia Place, and you happen to stay during "trash pickup day" you will get a LOUD awakening around 4:30 am. And also you will get some basic city noise, but that didn't bother us any.More
