Nice place to walk in park and great view from the top,
but there is no longer a tree!
It can get busy too and at night you get kicked out on time

It certainly is a way to complement all the other hills around Auckland. It helps you take in the surroundings and understand how Auckland was created. Worth the drive up.

View is spectacular of Auckland. Tree was destroyed by huligans but that does not change the meaning of it for a lot of people

We parked at the information centre and went inside to get directions and a map. Then we hiked up to the top on a steep, narrow dirt path through paddocks, where we had lots of fun taking close-up pictures of sheep. When we reached the obelisk at the summit, we paused to enjoy the spectacular view of Auckland. We walked back down via the road, through a lovely olive grove. The hike took us about two hours and was one of the "high" points of our trip!

Nice view and a pleasant place to visit with all the animals and playgrounds available. A good place to go for the day for a picnic with family.
