My wife and myself stayed at this motel last weekend while in Auckland to attend a concert at Vector Arena,
We did expect to much as the price was very reasonable and it looked ok on its web site with all the basics we need.
Upon entering our room I could see it more than just a little tired but was cleanish. It did have a very nice view of the rose gardens across a very busy and noisy road and there was also a small balcony. Unfortunately the sliding door that led onto it refused to open and was obviously broken. This also stopped from getting any fresh air into what was a very stuffy room. I called down to reception about this but was politely told they could fix it, it had been like that for some time and that they did not have any other room to give us.
It was about this time we realized that there was no sound proofing between the rooms as we were entertained by the sound of couple next door testing the very small double beds. We decide to stay on as it was time to go off to our concert and figured it was only for one night. When we arrived back some 5 hours later the lack of air in room became a real problem as was a very humid night.
Thankfully exhaustion got us to sleep only to be woken up at 6.00am by the sound of foot steeps of the staff preparing the restaurant above for breakfast.
Not being able to get back to sleep as the road noise had also built up now we decide to shower
and hit the road. The shower was at best poor and you could only get it to warm on full.
All in all the poorest stay in any motel I have experience and will never go back...
The best thing about this motel is it location and polite staff but that's about it..

Room Tip: Just go somewhere else...

Good afternoon hatch69,

Thank you for your recent feedback.

Our location and staff interaction certainly set us apart from our competitors and we are very lucky. We have rectified the shower and balcony door issues.

If you are in Auckland again and require a hotel room, feel free to contact me directly on ramon.james@aucklandroseparkhotel.co.nz and I will ensure you are well looked after.

King regards,

Whilst this is not in the luxurious category, this hotel offers very good, spacious superior rooms and if you are visiting Vector arena - its a 10 -15 minute walk. The staff are helpful and friendly the rooms are clean and bright. The bathrooms could do with a bit of a makeover, but for the price, very good all round

Room Tip: Offers a hotel restaurant which we have not yet tried and there is a pool and outdoor area

Very basic hotel, however clean and quiet. Room was reasonably clean with no air-con but ceiling ventilator. Did not see this for quite some time to be honest. Internet in the room - none. Hotel without internet in rooms in 2014...surprise. Bathroom was clean in exemption of shower curtains which smelled like wet dog. It is obvious that they do not clean them after guest uses shower - not so much hygienic. Restaurant was just basic, ok: place where you can go in order to fill up stomach but do not expect miracles. Would I come back? Maybe and for sure only for some short, overnight stay or so.

Good afternoon CJM1985_75,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with this valuable feedback.

Thank you for your feedback in regards to our hotel being quiet and clean. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness and location and are very lucky. We do have broadband in our public areas and in every accommodation room, there seems to have been some mis communication here.

I have taken your comments about our shower curtains and food and passed these onto the appropriate Department Managers for review / action.

If you are ever in Auckland again, please do not hesitate to contact myself directly.

Kind regards,

Ramon James - Rooms Division Manager

Everything here is very nice. It's location is very good: 10 minutes walking distance in to auckland central. The staff is very welcoming and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The only possible thing could be that we were here on a very hot day and there wasn't a fan or functioning Air Conditioner in the room. There was a control panel but I could not make it work or switch on so we had to sleep with windows open.

Other than that would stay here again!

There are very few places in Auckland that make it so easy to stay at. Auckland Rose Park Hotel is very reasonably priced for the location. You dont have any administrative hassles like booking with a credit card thank goodness! You also have up to 2 days to cancel a booking without being charged. But it is what makes a visitor a loyal customer that matters. I was booked in to stay for a whole week but had to cancel each days bookings in succession because we have a sick baby in starship. Ramon cancelled my booking with the upmost respect and understanding. This has now made me a loyal customer. When I am in Auckland I will always book here... my tip is... book early and book ahead folks they are becoming increasingly popular. you can even put your name on the waiting list because there are chances that there will be cancellations 'like mine'.

Room Tip: book early if you can
