“The Viaduct”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

There are heaps of places to eat in the Viaduct - all lovely. It is such a nice spot to wander round and look at all the boats as well. Just across the bridge is the Wynyard Quarter as well with heaps more eateries and a kids playground. Awesome place to go.

“Tourist mecca...??”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

I think the average tourist would prefer a walk down Ponsonby road right down to K'Rd, mix with the colourful kiwis, great coffee, vintage and designer shopping wonderful eateries.... my choice of places to visit. The viaduct has always seemed a tourist fleecing area, not comfortable for me anyway..

“Something for everyone”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

This is a very people friendly area with the Western end still being developed. There is a huge array of bars and restaurants, the National Maritime Museum, super yachts at berth, more restaurants and child-friendly parks in the Wynyard Quarter (closer to the Harbour Bridge) and easy access to the ferry building - ferries to the North Shore and neighbouring islands. The food is of a high standard and variety as are the bars. At night it is a safe place to stroll after dinner especially on the warm summer evenings.

“Nice little area”
Reviewed November 24, 2013

This is the area by the water that was built when Auckland hosted the Americas Cup. Apparently, sailing is big there. Nice little bars and restaurants and generally a cool place to walk around and hang out with friends. There is an ice bar there, which is a fun experience, however, you can't take pics inside the bar because they sell you pictures. That was kind of a bummer, but fun nonetheless.

“interesting place to visit”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

Viaduct Harbour is a very interesting place to visit. Whilst we were there, some tall ships were anchored at the wharf, also other vessels. There is a maritime museum to visit, but it was closed the time we were at the harbour. There are many cafes and eateries and a pleasant few hours can be spent taking in the atmosphere.
