We were surprised at the extensive collection of memorabilia and exhibits documenting all the wars New Zealanders participated in, and the roles played by other countries who helped defend New Zealand — such as the U.S., Canada and the U.K. There is an impressive exhibit which carries the name of every New Zealander who fought in these battles and lost his or her life — even nurses are represented. Detailed and interactive exhibits made the museum even more interesting and compelling.

This exhibition chartered some of our musical history and gave great comparison of different sound platforms (for those who still remember vinyl, tapes and CDs!

As Auckland's only museum it doesn't disappoint you. Lots of things from all over the world, from Egyptian mummies to Spitfire aircrafts. Auckland War Memorial Museum is a great place for a visit.
