Easy to get to, short bus ride or easy walk from Parnell.
Very good info on volcanoes and the surrounding area with an excellent volcano experience to make you feel like you are experiencing one for yourself.
Pretty good for youngsters and with just a suggested $10 donation for adults offers excellent value, could spend a few hours easily or more

Thank Jon M

Visited during a holiday trip.
Expected to spend a couple of hours - arrived soon after breakfast, had lunch there and left early evening. So much to see.....
Must go again.

Book for the Mauri show and tour it is well worth it. Nice cafe, clean and with veggie food. The park nearby is well worth a walk around and the view of the City is excellent.

On a cruise around NZ so limited time to see things. Mostly did hop on and off bus trips which seemed to take in most areas of interest allowing you to get off anywhere you would like to visit within your time frame. One of these was the Auckland Museum. They have a Moari show for $20 and they share some of their culture, songs and of course end with the Haka. Wonderful show and the theatre it was held in was small and intimate. Outside the theatre was some of their carvings, a war boat, etc. and if you have time can pay extra and have one of the entertainers relate further information. Photographs with the performers can also be had for free which was a pleasant change. We walked around a couple of other exhibitions before resuming our bus tour. Well worth the visit. You can pay $5 donation if you just want to visit the museum but if you have not had the opportunity to see a Moari show this is an excellent opportunity

We had a guide take us through the museum. There is a lot to learn about the Maori culture as well as history. From sculptures to vast canoes, from fishing instruments to weapons, there was a lot to see. We also got an understanding of where the Maori's migrated from. Very interesting and worthwhile!
