The sebel suites are located in the heart of the viaduct and are a short stroll from the city. Our room was spacious and comfortable however the air conditioning wasn't great and we were woken by a lot of noise from what sounded like a club nearby.

Hi Pavlova

Thank you for your feedback. I do apologies if the air conditioning did not work to your satisfaction. As the hotel is situated in the vibrant Viaduct Harbour precinct amongst the best bars and restaurants in Auckland, we do experience noise from these area fom time to time and try to manage in the best possible way we can.

We thank you once again for your feedback.

Kind regards

This was yet another hotel booked for us by our travel agent. We stayed the night we got into Auckland and the next night after a day long tour of the city and its beaches.

It's a really nice place in a really nice location.

Our room was very spacious (the most spacious of all the hotels we've stayed in so far) and had plenty of amenities including a washer and dryer in the suite which was a huge plus. We needed it to catch up on all the laundry from our extended stay in Australia and, now, New Zealand. It had a small kitchen with a microwave and oven.

There were plenty of outlets for our stuff and a gorgeous view of the harbor basin and marina.

The restaurants were plentiful and a short walk outside the hotel and overlooked the beautiful harbor basin.

The only downside was the additional charge for wi-fi. $25 per 24 hour period. There was the option of free wi-fi in the lobby but I think it's only the kids who don't mind sitting around a public place with a tablet or laptop on their knees responding to e-mail and social media. I prefer being able to sit at a table in the room. So I paid the $25/night (there are shorter options but why bother?)

My wife and I really liked the place and would recommend it to both business travelers and vacationers.

I've stayed at the Sebel a few times in various rooms and Ive never been dissappointed. The apartments have everything you need and are clean and fairly well maintained. We had a Marina Suite so looked across the viaduct and to the Harbour Bridge. The downside on this side of the building is noise from the bars below but we were so tired we didnt notice. Staff are very friendly and phoned us when the room was ready. Its a great location. Plenty of places to eat and drink and a hop skip and jump to ferries and Britomart. Fab!!!

Room Tip: Go Marina View but take ear plugs :0)

We had a very enjoyable weekend staying here in February. A number of the earlier posts had mentioned the noise in the evening coming up from the Viaduct harbour being an area of bars and restaurants. I have to say that I like quiet rooms when I am sleeping and I did not find the room we had too noisy. The doors and windows are I think double glazed so that cuts out a lot of the exterior noise when they are shut. In addition we like feeling like part of where we are staying so if you like looking out at the vibrancy of a city within reason when you maybe have to put up with a little noise. The room we had was a one bedroom with a kitchen. We made good use of the kitchen and it was a bonus that the Queen Street New World supermarket is not that far awa - maybe 10 minutes walk - so we called in there several times to get food for meals/breakfast. We caught the bus to a few places too and the buses/train station were also only about 10 -15 min walk away. The airport shuttle picked us up outside so no need to pay for a taxi to the airport. We had a nice balcony and view over the harbour and the restaurants were very close. The only negative would be that maybe the gravel roof area that we also looked out on could be cleared of cigarette butts every now and then. All in all an enjoyable stay.

Dear Jocknz,

I appreciate you taking the time to write a comment on Tripadvisor. We are spoiled for choice when it comes to location with so much surrounding the hotel.

I will pass your comments onto the building manager of the adjacent building as the area you are referring to is a residential apartment.

Kind regards,

Stayed here for 3 nights in May 2013. Very convenient to almost everything in the business district. The room setup was good and the staff was friendly and helpful. Kitchen was very nice for a long term stay or just some easy snacking if you are not in the mood to go out. The hotel is right at the Viaduct so there are plenty of restaurants and entertainment available within less than a minute walk. The place is lively so there is some noise from the bars and music from around 930PM, but it was well worth putting up with that for the convenience and the views -- just bring some headphones if noise is a problem for you.

Room Tip: Pay the extra bit for a marina/water view -- it is worth it.
