We spent two nights recently at the Sebel Suites in Auckland. On arrival the service was excellent and the gentleman on reception was most informative about the hotel and the surrounding facilities. The room was par excellence we had ordered a one bedroom apartment overlooking the water. This is exactly what we got and I could not fault anything. The views were just wonderful and one could sit back and view the great vista from your own balcony. The lounge area and dining area were well set out and the lounges were comfortable to sit on. The kitchen was well set out with a small dishwasher (most adequate for two), good sized fridge- everything had been thought through that one would need. The bathroom was clean (very clean), toiletries were also good and there was both a shower and a bath. The bedroom was of a good size with adequate cupboards…the safe in the room did have a mind of its own and sometimes it worked and other times it didn’t but that was so very minor. I was a little concerned re the reports about excess noise from the Viaduct area but we were there on a Sunday and Monday night and had no trouble at all. Around the corner from the hotel (leave entrance and turn right and on the next corner leading into the viaduct area is a small “supermarket” where they sell all the things you may want like bread and milk etc. The restaurants around the hotel are numerous and all of a great standard….we like the Viaduct Grill- nice feel, good food and wine (and the service was not over the top but just right). We had breakfast at Mecca one day (restaurant in front of the hotel overlooking the Viaduct area) and this was lovely also…so would I stay again…yes without a hesitation…easy to walk to Auckland shopping area, close to the docks…don’t forget to do a trip on the ferry to Devonport…great views and lovely place to wander.

We were very happy we stayed at the Sebel. Great location, roomy rooms, clean, kitchenette was nice, we had no view of the waterfront, but it was pretty nonetheless (the sky needle at night is cool!). From the Sebel, you can walk everywhere- good restaurants nearby, pretty harborside wharf walks. We could not have been happier for the price/value.

Stayed at these suites Sunday 2nd and Monday 3rd March and had a great time. Really conveniently close to Auckland city. Since it was not over the main weekend nights we were probabaly lucky to avoid the noise complaints that other Tripadvisors have indicated as a recurring problem.
Loved the outlook - my Significant Other spent several hours watching boats of all sizes coming in to the marina for a boat show with great interest.
The range of restaurants below and nearby was great - nothing better than sharing a dozen NZ oysters with a nice Marlborough sauv. blanc at 8.00 at night watching the world go by, then just going up to your room in 30 seconds flat when you have had enough.
Good facilities - bathroom was big and well lit, recently renovated by the look, kitchen was clean, fitted out well.
Comfortable bed, lovely sunny living area with interesting view, loved it.

If you like Mardi Gras, every night, all night long (until 5 AM) then you'll love the Sebel Suites.

The noise outside this hotel completely negates the lovely rooms and good customer service, who are totally aware of how bad it is outside the hotel. I was on the street side of the hotel (no harbor view) and it was unbearable. I can't imagine what it was like on the harbor side where all the bars are. The hen parties and drunken boyos made this hotel a definite no-go. As I write this, it is 5:39AM and there is a group of men/women shrieking and reeling across the road. A few hours ago, I saw a fight between 3-4 boyos over one woman (who was laughing hysterically while the guys bloodied each other...and this right under my balcony on the 6th floor).

Nice hotel, but avoid at all cost unless you're an insomniac or boyo yourself.

We stayed at the Sebel Suites for 3 nights, in a Marina View Suite. The facilities in the suites are excellent, including a washing machine and dryer. The views over the quay are great. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I endorse some of the previous comments about noise levels from the bars below. We stayed Thursday to Saturday. Thursday night was fine, but the noise was louder on Friday and Saturday.

If you are averse to noise then a city view suite would probably be more appropriate and you would have the same great facilities without the noise!

We would definitely stay there again.
