As this was our first time to Auckland, we booked the hotel with the best ratings on Trip Advisor. While the hotel itself is gorgeous, the lack of available parking closeby and the pomposity of the valets overshadowed what was otherwise a delightful stay.

If you dont want to pay the self important valets $30 to park your car, you have to go well out of your way to park in the parkade for $10/day. Relatively minor things, but there is better value for your money in Auckalnd.

Based on TripAdvisor reviews and Langham's reputations for quality hotels around the world, we booked a one-night stay at the Auckland property during a lay-over between Australia and the Cook Islands.

Overall, this hotel is top-notch. Rooms are generously sized, clean, and quite comfortable. In-room amenities are generally nicer than you would find in most city hotels. Staff were friendly and helpful, though some polishing can be done here ... more on that below. The location is excellent, we felt, and enjoyed the walk down the hill and back to the city (though a courtesy shuttle is available). The hotel's spa area encompasses the free outdoor pool (quite nice) and a beautiful change room with free lockers, sauna, steam, snail shower, and ice treatment ... loved that.

We did encounter a few minor bumps with our stay, however. We had quite a time working with different hotel staff prior to arrival on the booking and confirmation of the hotel limousines to/from the airport. First it was confirmed, then it wasn't, then their cars weren't available, then they were ... information was inconsistent. In the end, we were met by a very friendly and professional driver and whisked away to the hotel in one of their Lexus hybrid vehicles ... very nice, including the in-car room check-in. The return trip, though, was arranged in a "corporate" taxi ... slightly nicer than a regular taxi ... and the driver let us know he hadn't been paid, even though the hotel had already put it on our room bill, so that had to get sorted out. Additionally, we were disappointed that WiFi is not available in the rooms. There was a wired connection in the room (costly ... NZ$10 for an hour) or free computers with Internet in a lounge opposite the elevators on our floor (all floors don't have this, I believe).

Overall, though, we would return to the Langham. It is a fantastic choice in Auckland.

We got a great rate on the internet for this place and booked 3 nights. The rooms were immaculate and the staff were helpful and friendly. The pool and spa on the 2nd floor were just fantastic and well worth a visit.

I booked the Chaun Spa package for our wedding anniversary and could not have been happier with my choice. We stayed in a Chaun Spa suite, in my opinion the best in the hotel for the price. Included in our package was two 1 1/2 hour massages, valet parking, use of gym, pool and executive club.
The suite was beautifully furnished with elegant fabrics in deep rich colors. At the entrance in the suite was a wardrobe, luggage dressing area off to the side of a small hall leading to the lounge/work area. The bedroom was separated with a partition. Both rooms had large flat screen TVs.
The best was the bathroom, with a large infinity bathtub, separate shower, double sink with all the amenities.
The lighting could be set for bright or romantic. Our suite was directly across from the spa.
We used room service and had a great, but a bit pricey burger.
The spa was very good and we both enjoyed our massages and extra treatments booked.
All the staff was very helpful as well. The only negative I really have is the quality of the executive club breakfast. Toaster is slow with a que and the food could have been better.
I do hope to go back again and we really enjoyed our stay.

This is a totally impressive hotel – we have stayed there once before earlier in the year & felt then that the service was poor – this time around we couldn’t believe the difference – from the valet, to front desk, to the pool maintenance man, to staff we passed in the hallway, everyone was friendly, courteous & made us very glad that we had returned. We stayed in the Club area – the furnishings, cleanliness, food, service, & décor were superb. The turn down service was exemplary – chocolate on the pillow, mineral water left by the bedside, the curtains closed & the lights left on dim – wow service! The pool & spa facilities were fantastic. The only down side to our 2 night stay was the buffet meal at the SBF Brasserie – we were not impressed at all with the service or the meal – however here again the Langham came up trumps –we filled in a guest comment card & received an email from the Langham on our return home along with a voucher for a return complimentary dinner for two. Now that is service! We have told others of our stay at the Langham & how impressed we were – Well done Langham you deserve your top star status!

This hotel honoured flyby points at a busy time of the year and we were also upgraded to a luxury suite. It was wonderful. Very nice staff. King bed quality linen. wonderful bathroom and well stocked with the lotions, soaps and fluffy towels..Exceptionally clean room. We would have liked to relax and spend some in the comfy lounge chairs with a drink..but we were on a mission to see Auckland in 24 hours. I would stay here again and any Langham hotels for that matter.

I ended up staying here because it had the highest star rating on another travel site while still staying under my $100 a day budget. I really enjoyed this place. The room was very comforatble and spacious. The king bed was plush and the linen clean and luxurious. The lobby was stunning and staff very curtious. The concierge was very helpful as well, helping me find a sailing trip and good places to eat and araning the car service. The car service that was provided was very convenient and seemed to be easily available. There were two dining options available when I was there. What they hotel described as a fine dining restaraunt and a buffet. Near as I can tell they are the same place. The difference being if you order off the menu or get the buffet. I chose the buffet, thinking that fine dining = expensive. The buffet was fabulous and had a teriffic selection. I was a bit taken back at the price though, $80NZ. Oh well, part of experience I guess.
