A Fabulous Hotel, facilities, pool apart ,were simply superb. Staff were excellent, so helpful and nice. No hesitation in recommending the Langham to all for quality and service.

Not enough time to compliment the whole experience from check-in to meals to assistance from the front desk. Am sold on the Langham brand and philosophy of business. Pricey but well worth the cost! Can't wait to stay again!

My husband and I travelled to New Zealand with our two sons last summer and we decided to stay in this hotel for four nights. We chose to stay in a studio suite connecting to a standard room. This kind of combination is made of a standard room opening to a big sitting-room with a very large dining area and business desk, opening to another standard room. In other words, my room was exactly the same of my children's room, there is no difference. I must confess that this was really disappointing to me, because the bedrooms are really really small and the bathrooms are less than 5 sq metres, with so few room to move comfortably and only one sink...The tub is very uncomfortable and there is no separate shower, even if on the web site it was reported that this suite has a separate shower. When I told it to a man at the reception he verified and then he said that the web site was wrong... Anyway there is nothing you could expect from a suite bathroom. The only difference with my children's bathroom, that is with a standard room bathroom, was the presence of Molton Brown bath products instead of hotel bath shower gel and shampoo. That's not enough to upgrade a standard bathroom to a suite bathroom. When I made my complaint about ther size of the bathroom to the person who took us to our room, she answered: "But you won't spend all your time in the bathroom! Will you?" What kind of answer is it? I was horrified by this rude attitude.
Nevertheless, the hotel has some British charme, especially at tea time (afternoon tea here is a must you cannot miss), breakfast is excellent, the personnel very gentle and friendly. I had a great cappuccino (really Italian style) every morning.
We were included in the Executive club, which offers the possibility to access a special lounge to sit and relax during the day, having some free refreshments and special aperitifs and a canape buffet from 6 to 8. Moreover you can have free internet access at the business centre.
During my stay I looked for some other hotel to stay for my next visit to New Zealand, but I couldn't find anyone to be a 5 star level hotel. I probably will return there because it is elegant and the personnel is gentle. The doorman Luciano was really kind and he took care of our luggage (12 pieces) in a very professional way.

A good quality hotel at reasonable price in central location (5/10min walk to the hub). Typical large hotel but treatment was very good - would definitely stay there again if was visiting NZ. Don't expect much of a view (no matter how high your room is).

Working in the room 4pm-ish, was disturbed by a rock band (they were very good but disturbingly loud). Eventually rang reception and they said they would investigate and call me back. They didn't and the music stopped. About 45 minutes later it started again. Again rang reception and was told they didn't know where it was coming from and when they previously 'had sent the security guard out, he couldn't find anything'. Again music stopped.

10.30pm the music starts again. 10.45 ring reception. Night manager calls back at 10.50, music will stop at 11. 11.20 music still roaring, again ring to be told it will be on til midnight. The function is in their very own ballroom and as the previous manager finished their duty at 11, the current one has no idea why we were told it would be over at 11, it is a black tie media event.

By now 11.30, told could shift rooms in the morning, but when asked if they planned any similar functions the next night, were told no. As it would be the last night, we declined. Also offered a complimentary breakfast, however since still up after midnight (1.40am before I slept) with an early morning meeting (which was nearly slept in for) this was a ridiculous offering.

In the morning when I looked out of the window, the ballroom roof was right next to the window, no wonder it sounded as if we were there!

Appalling management, clearly at 4pm when the original complaint was laid, the problem should have been anticipated and we should have been moved.

The next morning, I asked to speak to the General Manager of the hotel, but the front desk manager was quite clear I would not be able to, unless she deemed it appropriate. She did give the night free, however as this was a company visit; it did nothing to me personally to recognise the effect of this debacle. Neither was the offer particularly gracious. I felt that my integrity had been challenged by the way the she heard me, and then went to check the veracity of my complaint. I understand that she had to investigate, but the way it was worded was slightly offensive.

The hotel clearly knew the function was on in-house, so to be told/implied to that the noise was external and finishing early is unforgivable!!

I have filled my passport and stayed in more business hotels than I can number around the world and NEVER has a complaint been handled in such a poor manner by so many people. Hotels are not perfect, however they way situations are handled is the mark of professionalism and this was so badly managed in so many ways by so many people.

PS and a room service burger took 45 minutes to deliver! Not really a complaint in itself, but the (non) icing on the cake

Stayed for two nights while visiting to see Cirque de Soliel. Got a very good deal on the Park Suite. As always the Langham proved to be a haven from the city. The club lounge was elegant and peaceful and the service was exemplary. The Park Suite was well appointed but starting to look a bit tired. A suite without a separate shower is a bit of an oddity but the over the bath arrangement works OK.

Servicing of the room was not what it should have been. Rubbish left out from the previous day was not cleared away - the remains of the fruit and nuts that we had on arrival on the Friday night were still there on the Sunday morning. A newspaper was ordered for both mornings but never arrived - that didn't matter because the Club Lounge was well resourced but it is not good enough in a hotel of this standard.
