Owner description: Sea Life Kelly Tarlton’s is New Zealand’s most famous aquarium! It is home to New Zealand's only sub-Antarctic penguins and offers a myriad of opportunities to get up close and personal with incredible marine life from the Pacific and Southern oceans. For a truly incredible experience, take the plunge on an Animal Adventure jump into the shark tank and go snorkeling with 14 massive sharks or jump on the ice and get up close and personal with the King and Gentoo penguins!

It is a nice place although due to having teenagers we had expected more... having said so should have a keen interest for water mammals and/or penguins then it surely will make for a great visit.

an underground seaworld really! an escalator takes you on a ride through the sea....sharks, stingrays, loads of fish - sometime you will spot a human swimming with underwater gear on too! Their is an interesting stingray enclosure too. The snow ride through the penguin area is very cool!!

Penguins are kept in an environment which mimics that of Antarctica. It is great for all especially kids to see.

Buy your tickets online to get 10% off & avoid lineups. To get this discount on activities such as swim with the sharks requires at least 48 hrs prior booking & payment.
Enjoyable experience particularly if you get in with the sharks and ride a couple of times through the penguin enclosure otherwise below average.
