Well worth visiting. We had a complimentary guide who was excellent and told us Maori history and told us all about the America's Cup, well they are the current holders!

this place is a must to see and do.....even if you are scared of heights like me still worth doing and watching people jump off was scary but they all enjoyed their thrill in the moment

My wife and I spent four hours touring this marvelous museum. The diverse exhibits featured several aspects of the New Zealand maritime history including the sailing craft of the indigenous people, the arrival of the Europeans by ship including the immigrant experience, the evolution of multiple and varied maritime vessels in the whaling, timber, and coastal economies, navigation, and the more recent America’s Cup sailing competition featuring the glorious efforts of the New Zealand teams led by Sir Peter Blake. There are interactive exhibits and activities for the kids. This is a great museum activity for the whole family.

We spent several hours at the museum and sailed on the ketch. Very informative about Polynesian culture through America's cup efforts.

A very interesting history of New Zealands Maritime history, full of information for early days up to the latest Americas Cup race next year
