We spent several hours at the museum and sailed on the ketch. Very informative about Polynesian culture through America's cup efforts.

Very good museum on the maritime history of New Zealand. Be sure and allow extra time for the America's Cup display at the back of the museum.

Probably spend 2 hours here. A wide spectrum of maritime exhibits—mauri vessels, captains cook and Tasman history, fishing in New Zealand. Could use some better signage but definitely worth a visit.

Not really one for me but I can see what people would enjoy it if interested in maritime history
As it appears all visitor attractions Aron Auckland it’s free for locals and rather pricey for holiday makers
We spent nearly two hours and the museum goes through early Polynesia days right up to the America’s cup winning boat I think and present day eco work
I’m afraid to say a section of motor power boards really were the limit for me but the crafted canoes and then to see a cup winning boat was quite something
We didn’t take the boat trip option and I think if you are going to come and do this I would recommend doing the boat as well
