Very interesting, i learned a lot about the culture of the Maoris and enjoyed the part about immigration. Thrilling films and fascinating to see the real sailboat of the America’s cup.

There were plenty of ships and boats in the museum including not only NZ but Oceania in general. Old cabin experiences were really interesting (i.e. swaying and squeaky ship of immigrants).

Midweek sailing on Ted Ashby - if the winds are good and the sky is bright, its a marvellous introduction to the city, or a useful and relaxing way to pass a day before the big flights out in the evening. Certified relaxation for jet lag. Crew can be informative, amusing and interesting

Had a ball at the Maritime museum. Spent about 2 hours there and could have stayed another hour. So much to see. Really enjoyed the last part on the Americas cup challenge etc and Sir Peter Blake.

This fine museum contains a great deal more to interest the visitor than would appear from the outside. Notably, it includes exhibits on navigation, whaling, the immigrant experience, New Zealand's victories in the America's Cup and other sailing events. It is captivating and thorough.
