“Excellent museum to visit”

This place is so worth the admission money you pay to see it! I took the free audio tour so it meant you got more from the tour than just wondering around reading the various displays. I particularly enjoyed the America’s Cup/sailing display area on the upper level.

“Historic displays well thought out”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

We visited this regularly as part of one of school's annual outings.
Pupils learned a great deal about the settlement of NZ by all types of craft from the earliest Maori waka to liners of the 50s.Heroic NZ sporting achievements in sailing are also well covered

“Another day in paradise beside the ocean.”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

We recently had the opportunity to visit Voyager New Zealand Maritime Museum with its entry easily found just past the big boat KZ1 on Auckland's Viaduct Harbour. We were welcomed by several friendly faces at the entry counter and paid the modest fee along with the purchase of several mementoes of my visit from the vast array of merchandise . The various galleries I visited provided us with a great insight into New Zealand's Maritime's past from the arrival of Kupe to our shores to the Blue Water Black Magic display , a tribute to Sir Peter Blake .
We also took the opportunity to sail on the Ted Ashby which is a replica a the sailing scows which were regularly seen in our ports back in the late 1800,s and early 1900,s..On departure we raised the sails then travelled under the Harbour Bridge and back again to the Museums base on Hobson Wharf. In summary a great time was had by all and it is fair to say that a visit to Voyager was one of our highlights of our stay in Auckland.,

“In for a treat”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

It was a good museum about maritime history. The sailing was excellent, the crew was very kind and welcoming. My tip; get as close to the captain as possible 'cause he has some excellent stories to tell! I loved the trip, I got of the boat many hours ago and have not yet stopped smiling!
