Owner description: Auckland's Sky Tower is the tallest structure in the Southern Hemisphere, this tower is more than 300 metres high. Offering stunning views, along with award winning restaurants, a gift shop and an opportunity to push your limits by walking the outside of the viewing platforms, or by jumping off from 192 metres above Auckland's CBD.

We really enjoyed the Sky Tower and it was one of the few places that gave a discount to seniors. The views from the tower superb and the staff very friendly and helpful.

If you want to catch a view of the Auckland skyline, the Sky Tower offers a great view. The price was very reasonable and you were able to go up a second time for an extra $2 if you wanted to within 24 hrs, so I went during the day and night. The staff were very friendly and there were two observation decks. I know the tower also offers a sky walk and sky jump which look fun, so there are a bunch of other activities that you can do as well.

This is a great place to take in the views of everything around you we went to both levels . We watched some of the people doing the diving off the top of the tower the come past so quick. Got some great photos from the top.

I visited here as a tourist and had been recommended to eat lunch at the top of the sky tower, as it was a very nice restaurant, and this meant you got free entrance to the tower, Me and my friend walked over to the restaurant reception, to enquire about lunch, but before we could really ask, the lady on the reception gave us a bit of a dirty look and told us the entrance was 'over there' when i explained that we actually wanted to dine in the restaurant, she looked shocked (i dont think she thought us worthy, maybe we should have dressed up a bit more) we were allowed up despite meeting with her disapproval, to an amazing (if not kinda scary) table right at the top, to an amazing all you can eat buffer style lunch, with a glass of bubbly, and exquisite food, involving, fresh soups, seafood, hot dishes from around the world. We had an amazing view, and apparently the restaurant revolves which sadly did not appeared to be turned on for our visit. We even got to see the mental people in jumpsuits walking around the edge of the ledge outside. I prefer to stay on the inside myself but if you too are a mental, you can enjoy this little added extra. I hate heights but well worth the fear, Amazing!

As you can imagine from a very high tower there are great views of all surrounding areas. The elevator ride is fun (glass bottom section). As this was nearly the last night of our holiday we splashed out on dinner in the restaurant. They had a $69 special for a three course meal, $25 kids meal. The food was spectacular! The view amazing, as it was a revolving restaurant. Great service. We felt under dressed as we had just came off a ferry boat tour and were walking home before deciding to visit the tower on a spur of the moment decision. We also did dinner on an impulse, and they had a vacancy at 6pm but said we had to be done by 8pm, with a six year old we laughed, the days of lingering over a meal are long gone - we were done with a three course meal by 7:15!
Would highly recommend.
