QuayWest Auckland apartments are large and nicely presented. Not a new property but it's clean, well presented and located in the middle of Auckland CBD.

Positives: Room size, views, clean, kitchette [not a full kitchen], laundry, comfortable, basically its got lots to offer. Bed was above average.

Negatives: Executive Lounge is not an executive lounge more of a room with a door.

This is a great hotel and a perfect place to stay in Auckland. I had a standard one bedroom suite which comes with a small but well appointed kitchen.
The room was clean very comfortable and quite. I was overlooking the harbour so the view was great as well.
I ate breakfast and diner in the restaurant and the food was nice.
Staff where very pleasant and helpful during entire stay
I would recommend this hotel for anyone in Auckland on business or pleasure

My friend and I stayed here for 1 night before travelling home in April.
The suite was a 1 bed twin. It was well furnished but only on the 3rd floor and with no double glazing the noise from the street was horrendous. The traffic never stopped and people shouting half the night. At one stage in the middle of the night gun shots were heard, it definately wasn't a car backfiring, sirens were heard soon after.
The staff at reception were unhelpful to say the least, as if they couldn't be bothered to speak to us, in fact our booking in was made in total silence as was booking out.

Stayed for three nights before heading north to the Coromandel. I wish I could remember what we paid -- I believe it was about US$150 per night for a two-bedroom suite. We arrived about 7:30 a.m., fresh off the flight from SFO and were pleasantly surprised by the facilities and the room. We were on a high floor -- maybe the 15th -- facing toward the harbor and the freight docks. It was a gorgeous view; one night it was incredibly windy and the construction crane on the next building swung in circles all night -- strange and mesmerizing to watch. The loading/unloading of freighters was also pretty fascinating to my 8yo son.

The suite was really spacious, 2BR and 2 baths -- beds were comfortable and everything was sparkling clean. Kitchen was pretty well-equipped. The hotel seemed fairly empty; there was never a line or a crowd anywhere. Staff was quite friendly and accommodating.

The (interior) pool was gorgeous, clean and empty. I took my son swimming at night and he thought it was the coolest thing ever to float in the warm water while staring out the huge windows at the wind and rain.

Front desk had good recommendations on food; there was a good little bakery down the street for coffee and pastries if you're not inclined to have breakfast in the hotel -- I forget the name but it's on a corner and the friands were yummy. A pharmacy is on the same block, with a very helpful pharmacist which came in handy as our 2yo was sick. Right across the street is sort of an inside "food court" full of really interesting ethnic eateries. The front desk assured me it was quite good and they were right -- the Indonesian place way in the back was great and there was (oddly) a group of Balinese motorcyclists enjoying it while I waited for my takeout. This same food court has, as one of the kiosks, a full bar... good to know!

I'd absolutely stay here again. I'm not usually pleasantly surprised by hotels but this one did it.

We stayed here for 3 nights with our two kids, the location and the views are the best features of this hotel. We stayed in a 2 beds apartment with great views to the harbour, walking distance to all amenities and best restaurants in the harbour. The beds were quite comfy and decent, room service was exceptional, and so customer service as well. The only but is the price, the apartment looks in need of renovation or painting, looks tired and worn out, otherwise it would have been perfect! Overall a great experience in Auckland with all restaurants, shopping at the tip ofyour fingers, fantastic location and service.Do not miss the Auckland museum, the domain gardens are fantastic cultural experiences and the Harbourside restaurant, best seafood in town!
