Celebrating our 30th anniversary in New Zealand started at the CityLife Auckland and we couldn't have made a better choice! Not only is this a great location that is close to shopping, restaurants, museums, art gallery and park but the service we received made it even more special. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by friendly and professional staff and were delighted to find out we were upgraded to an Executive Corner Suite on the 21st floor with amazing views of the harbour. We especially enjoyed watching people walk/jump from the SkyTower (we could actually hear them scream). David, the Front Desk Manager personally greeted us upon our arrival and also left us a personal note and gift in our room which was a lovely touch. He also allowed us a late checkout on our return visit for our last night in NZ. We loved the spaciousness and all the amenities of the suite. The early dinner special is an incredible deal; the meal we chose was amazing. There was a 24 hour convenience store across the street which was the only shop that had an electrical converter (we brought the wrong type). We loved the king bed and especially the heavenly pillows. We would not hesitate to recommend Heritage's CityLife Hotel to any of our friends and colleagues.

this was our favourite hotel of our stay. the staff were really friendly and service was excellent. they parked our car for free, and put our luggage into our car the next morning and brought it around as we had breakfast.
breakfast was delicious.
the room was great - full serviced apartment. would be back here in a heartbeat. was the best value hotel of our stay. excellent location too.

After much deliberation we chose the CityLIfe because it was good walking distance to most things for our 4 day stay in Auckland. We walked to the viaduct, the casino the main shopping area quite quickly. We hired a car and the conceirge were most helpful......had the hire car people there with th car in 20 minutes. Nothing was too uch trouble.
HIghly recommended

We stayed at the CityLife for a couple of days to explore Auckland.
The hotel is within walking distance of down town shopping streets like Queen Street or the harbour area. Public transit will bring you to all other sights.
Our room was very clean and the window fully opened (although view blocked by other building).
We had some trouble booking online, as we did not receive a confirmation via email (as promised during the booking), but a quick check with the friendly staff via email confirmed that everything was OK.

We are regular visitors but our last visit to Citylife was a bit of a disaster, but we were enticed back and we have to say it was but a momentary lapse! We travelled with a 8.5mth old and everything was great, the staff were friendly & helpful. Great locality although not the best views as surrounded by other buildings - but we could still see the Hauraki Gulf from our room and it was sunny.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor if you want the views

No arguments with the great location of this hotel. It's centrally located in Queen Street within easy reach of shops, restaurants and the all important harbour. The rooms were clean and, importantly the bathroom was impeccable.

Our room looked out over an adjacent multi story car park with a small 24 hour shop below and a backpacker's hostel within hearing distance. Having said that it would be unreasonable to expect a brilliant view in the middle of one of Auckland's main thoroughfares so I point this out simply as a "heads up" for you.

What the hotel gains in location it loses in ambience..hence my reference to a lack of soul. We felt that all the open spaces in the hotel were joyless. Staff were unsmiling, although to be fair, they were also quite helpful when asked.

Be warned, the restaurant closes on Sunday night so if you want a meal then you are going to have to discover Auckland's finest and it won't be in the hotel!

Room Tip: Our room number was 302 and that looked out over the car park....hope that helps!

This is a good place to stay if you are a tourist in Auckland. It is well located for the city, waterfront restaurants and ferry terminals and has the added bonus of the airport express bus stop right outside. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We booked through Expedia and the room allocated to us was next to the lift shaft which was rather noisy, so avoid rooms with 01 and 02 eg 301 402 501 602 etc

Room Tip: Avoid rooms next to lift shaft ...book direct, not through Expedia as room allocated was not the bes...
