Overall exceeded my expectations in terms of overall service, location and room but thought it was a little tired and in need of some TLC. Great value if you purchase through wotif or similar last minute room deals.

Pros: Great location (on Queen Street, walkable to anywhere), new and modern decor (hallways and hotel room interior have all been updated since I last stayed there), very clean, friendly & professional staff (the car valet guy refused to accept his tip!), room was spacious by city standards, came with kitchenette and in-room washing machine and dryer, has gym facilities.

Cons: No view from the room because it's next to other high-rise buildings (even on the 16th floor), no street parking.

Overall, this hotel is really wonderful and I would definitely recommend!!!

Paid a very reasonable price for a room, and we were very surprised. Great location, excellent room and fantastic service. Walking distance to everything. The bar also served some complimentary snacks which were excellent.

Stayed for a couple of nights Feb 2013. Booked through WOTIF, got a really good deal on Deluxe Suite (full kitchen and seperate bedroom) including full brekky and parking. (Parking can be expensive if not included in a deal). Excellent location, 10 mins stroll to Viaduct. Friendly helpful staff, quiet rooms, opening windows. Rooms a bit tired, but no complaints. Only negative (which we knew about beforehand), was the shower over the bath. We prefer a seperate shower. Easy to get to (I dont enjoy driving in big citys, and this was just off the motorway), valet parking was a drawcard for us also. Oh, and Bed was extremely comfy..and best brekky

Central Auckland only five minutes walk from the restaurants and bars on the waterfront. Lots of shopping nearby also. Rooms spacious and clean. Service very good both for the room and in the lobby. Valet parking at $35 was a boon - Car kept securely and you are able to get it in and out of the car park as many times as you wish. Didn't use the restaurant, hardly anyone seemed to be using it. Not really surprising as there are so many good places to eat within a five or 10 minute walk. Breakfast was expensive at $35. I went to the Occidental which is a Belgian bar just off Queen Street only two minutes walk from the hotel. Excellent breakfast deal for $8.50 plus coffee four dollars made for a very good start to the day. Would recommend city life if you are looking for somewhere Central, clean, and good value, especially if you have a car you need to park overnight.
