This was the first time we had actually stayed in Auckland and the hotel experience was very good. We were warmly welcomed for our 3-night stay, a quick check-in and our luggage brought to our de-luxe suite. Very clean and comfortable - more amenities than we required: there was washing machine and drier, fridge/freezer and cooking facilities in the separate lounge.. TV in both lounge and the bedroom. The only criticism I would have is that the bathroom was rather small and the shower a tight fit. But the towels were clean and plentiful. The bed had a soft topper mattress which we found comfortable and room service was prompt. The restaurant wasn't open during our stay but the bar area could supply snacks if required. Bar staff accommodating and helpful. Would certainly choose this hotel again even though the late night revellers can be a bit noisy.

Have stayed here 4 times for business and holiday in the past couple of months... Great location, on Queen street, close to all the tourist attractions.
Every time I stay we have stayed in an apartment/suites with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and lounge and kitchen... the rooms are clean, tidy and well appointed.
The hotel is great for families and groups....
The last time I stayed we had a penthouse apartment...once again well appointed...and amazing view of the sky tower and city... worth ever dollar....and great value for a group...
I have only eaten here once and the meal was very good- we hired staff member to wait on us... The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly...
I would recommend this hotel for weekend away for group "girls weekend"... location is great for business and pleasure...

Have stayed here 10 times now, and a good place in good location. Rooms, generally very good size, particularly the suites and always clean and tidy. My preferred hotel in Auckland for location and amenities. Small gym but usually not busy.

Good hotel, very well located in Queen st only 5min to sky tower or ferry terminal. Hotel lobby is good, tidy, it has a weird entry you have to pass through one lobby to get to the hotel lobby if entering from queen st.

Rooms are clean and tidy, bathrooms are good, we have a superior room but to be fair it's not 'superior' it's a standard hotel room, at least what I would say is standard across most hotels.

The bed is a bit old, it doesn't have any anti roll together system, and is generally not that comfortable. If you have back related pain, I would stay away. At least from a superior room, other rooms may have better beds.

The room has air conditioning and it works well, very quiet which is nice for a change.

Thank you for your feedback and lovely comments regarding our hotel - we do appreciate them. Regarding the beds - I am pleased to advise that we are replacing all our beds - in fact we started installing the new beds on the top floor yesterday and all new beds will be installed by the end of August - so next time you stay with us you will experience a wonderful, amazingly comfortable Sleepyhead Latex Elegance bed with built in plush topper - they are a dream!
We look forward to welcoming you back again soon!

I am very impressed by CityLife`s Hotels in New Zealand.Room was huge with everything you need.It was like staying in a private apartment.
Rooms were cleans and bright and airy.Bed was comfortable with so many pillows.
Location was right in the middle of everything. So we could go back to our hotel anytime and dump our stuff and go out again.
The Concierge and staff was most helpful and obliging. However though we booked a 1 bedroom suite with a King bed we decided we wanted 2 twin beds.We had to upgrade for another $25pernight to get a larger room with 2 beds so we decided that was what we wanted. But when we got to our room the bed was still a king instead of 2 beds which the receptionist told us.
Overall still a very recommended hotel and will always book CityLife Hotels in New Zealand.

Was a great hotel. The decor was modern, the rooms were pristine. One of the problems we find in hotels is lack of shower pressure - CityLife did not disapoint. The staff were very friendly and helpful - great stay overall thank you

We stayed at the CityLife Auckland back in 2007 and my review was less than favourable. However, a senior staff member that responded to my original complaints asked me to contact her directly should we return to Auckland, I did this and we had a great experience.

Booking:
We booked direct with the hotel and communication was excellent. The booking process was easy.

Arrival:
We arrived in Auckland straight from the airport. It had been a long day having travelled from Hong Kong, so it was great that the check in process was smooth and efficient. Are details were to hand. We were given a special rate and upgraded to an Executive Suite on an upper floor. My parents were travelling with us, and they were also allocated the same grade of room, which I thought was a nice touch. We went up to the rooms and the bags were brought up shortly after.

The rooms/facilities:
The executive suite is great. It has a large room containing lounge/diner and kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom. The accommodation is very comfortable and from the upper floors has a great view over Auckland and the harbour. There were nice toiletries in the bathroom, tea/coffee facilities and TVs in each room. There is wireless internet in the reception.

The location:
The location on Queen Street is perfect as a base for exploring Auckland. A short walk down to the harbour, easy access to buses and lots of shops and restaurants nearby.

Check-out:
We left the hotel - sadly after only one night. We did not need to store bags as we left in the morning.

Anything else?

Our original booking was for April 2010, but an eruption of an Icelandic volcano meant that our trip was cancelled and rebooked for September. Despite being under no obligation to do so, the hotel were happy to move our booking without charge.

Summary:
A very nice hotel in the perfect location for Auckland. I would recommend it.

Room Tip: Higher floors less exposed to traffic noise.
