We stayed at this hotel as we wanted a central location to visit Auckland's revamped waterfron, the renovated and enlarged Art Gallery and also the NZ Ballet at the Civic Theatre. CityLife could not have been better positioned for needs; we could walk everywhere and if you tire of walking, there is the Link Bus.
The room wascompact and the bed only a queen but we did have free parking thrown in and at $165.00 a night we think the value was good. The rooms were spotless and the staff very helpful and polite. The small TV was an annoyance but we could have upgraded to a de luxe room and had a big room, big bed and big TV but as we were not in our room much it was OK. Good pub around the corner, The Bluestone where we had two dinners for one special on Sunday night and excellent cafe, Wolfe and Federal for breakfast. This is a brilliant cafe with sort of industrial grunge decor, great food and insouciant service from the server, who is also one of the owners.
The pleasant experience we had really made our trip to Auckland enjoyable.More
