This is a big hotel in "big" city. It was definitely not the most memorable place we stayed but that was not what we wanted in Auckland. We wanted a clean, easy, comfortable place downtown. And we got it. There were no problems and it was a good place to stay with our toddler. The breakfasts were also great, large with lots of food to choose from.

Upon check in we were upgraded to a nice corner room on the top floor, with two windows, from one of which a good view was seen. The bed was very large and comfortable and despite being next to the lift, the sleep quality was good. The furnishings are a little old fashioned, with the usual CP toiletries. The lobby and reception area is very dull, with no natural light and when we arrived we stood in the queue for Priority Members, however we were still ignored in favour of "normal" guests. After I complained I noticed that next day the "favoured" queue had been removed and never reappeared. I am not sure if we were staying in the CP or a normal Holiday Inn as I noticed that some of the receptionists had been "shipped over" from the Holiday Inn at Auckland airport.
The Executive lounge is far too small for a hotel of this size and the choice of breakfast food is not stunning 'tho' a bigger choice can be had elsewhere. I did bump into one of the staff in the lounge I had seen about 4 years ago and noticed she still lacked in charm offensive. It was not nice to bump into this person again. Once again I had some words with her but the other two workers in the Lounge were both pleasant and helpful.
The cost for the hotel was fair.

Have stayed at Crowne Plaza numerous times. Rooms are comfortable, may need aircon to manage temperature. Friendly staff in restaurant and food is very good. Great to have carpark so handy. 15 mins free WiFi in lobby is very welcome

We have stayed at a few different hotels in Auckland over the years, but got the opportunity to stay at Crowne Plaza last weekend. It measured up extremely well against its competitors. We were staying with our 3 year old. Notice they put us in an end of corridor room (just incase wee man made a lot of noise - which he didn't). Thought that was a great idea as we weren't worried about the neighbours being disturbed while wee Charlie jumped on the King Size bed (which was SUPER comfortable). Small glitch with the aircon was fixed with one call to the concierge. Very central location perfect for The Civic The Edge or Aotea Square, and only 3 minutes straight through to the middle of Queen Street. Parking was self park, very easy to find, $10 for the whole weekend. Couldn't have been happier, thanks Crowne Plaza, we'll come again.

Been 10+ years since I previously stayed here. King room good size. Good views back toward Auckland Domain. Room service reasonably priced & quick. Fantastic location. 5 mins walk to Viaduct, & 3 mins to Sky City. All in all, very satisfactory hotel for business stays.

Thank you for leaving your feedback on your most recent stay to the Crowne Plaza Auckland. The team and I are thrilled to hear that you returned to us after 10 years. Also, I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your Room Service order. The Executive Chef recently updated both the Room Service menu and Aria Restaurant menu to incorporate some fresh and seasonal items for summertime. All items (especially the New Zealand lamb) have been a hit with our guests and I'll be sure to pass along the message that you enjoyed it too. Thank you again for your kind comments.
